Guys,

anyone well clued-up on Xboot?? I've been trying to create a bootable USB with puppy linux, hiren's and avira rescueCD, but with all 3 on there the drive won't boot. If I just put puppy and avira on, it'll boot, but puppy won't set up properly, keeps binning out of X. I've got puppy on a stand-alone bootable usb with no problems

I've tried the forums with no joy, was just wondering if anyone has tried/encountered/beaten this ??

Hanx in advance
G-J :)

Afternoon GJ , you now have my undivided attention, well until I go out in 1 hour . I lied earlier I had Puppy on my Xboot stick :o, but the better news was it don't work:rotfl:.
It stalls on searching for file-systems (I assume it is the .sfs). So
I went and downloaded the 528 lucid version (from the .nl mirror it's quicker) Whacked it into Xboot as puppy tested it with qemu result ...ok. So out comes the netbook and in goes the stick , Selected new version of Puppy and voila it boots no probs (well except the Netbook has a realtek wireless card and that won't work without samsung tools , so I need to frig that iso grrr.) Any hows hope this helps DCM

cheers DCM, most interesting..... I tried the 528 puppy initially, and when it didn't work I went back to .501 (that I normally use) and it still wouldn't s0ddin' work

couple of points, which bootloader did you use, and what else was in your Xboot composite with puppy??

Yay !!! just rebuilt it again, and puppy 528 just worked, just like that!!! It's even used my savefiles from 501, so speedy bootup :)

Gawd-knows what went different this time to last week, but I'm impressed :)

...only thing now is I'll have to rebuild it with hiren's v12, coz v15 ain't so good...

even the networking worked first go :)
