Well done on everything achieved today!! Its not cheating at all to add things to the list that you have done before writing the list - I do it all the time :) Often i end up adding other things i have done that weren't on the list too ;) main thing is being able to recognised all the things you have achieved in the day cos often we don't even think about what we did do and focus on the stuff not done - this is about turning that thought pattern around :D

Welcome CountingPennies, it is fab that you are joining us :j

And thank you FC for bringing her over here :T

This is an incredibly supportive thread - we are all here for each other. I can't tell you how much this thread means to me and how much I have got out of it.

Remember no positive step is a rubbish step. If you think about it putting a £1 into my party tin is not rocket science but when I turn 50 next August I will have over £400 - now that really is positive

Don't worry about crying, it is your way of expressing your feelings, far better than bottling it all up. Most of us have been there, done that and have the T shirt or in my case I'm still doing it. I just don't know when I will burst into tears but a wise colleague told me - those who mind, don't matter and those who matter, don't mind

    Have a fab day

This is why I love this thread xx

Good morning Happy Steppers Crew :hello:

Well it would seem that my body likes to wake me up at 5.15am as I seem to be waking up more and more at this time! It is funny to think that as I am writing this list, most of you are fast asleep with one or two of you snoring!!! :p

My appointment with Occ Health went really well yesterday and knowing that I am on the list for counselling, they are going to put me forward for CBT. It was a very relaxed meeting and I trusted the lady who is dealing with me.

    Another good day - I achieved 8 smilies :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

It did make me laugh when i read about you being up at 5.15am because i was still awake at 4.30 so was probably just drifting off as you woke up :rotfl:

So glad to hear the OH appt went well, have you had CBT before? thats my speciality and one of the most successful therapies for lots of things, but especially thought type 'disorders' such as phobias, OCD, eating disorders and depression! Its a very practical therapy and i think you will like it - it is a little bit incorporated into this challenge too BTW ;). Be prepared to really have your thoughts and beliefs turned on their head :D but overall enjoy it too ;)

Oh i just saw the query about CBT - in the most simple terms it is based on the impact that our thoughts and beliefs have on our behaviour and how behaviour then also impacts on our thoughts and beliefs creating a feedback loop. For example if we believe we are going to be bad at something before we start it the chances are we will not put 100% effort into doing it, therefore we might not perform as well as we could. Because our performance is not great it then reinforces the belief that we are not good at that thing.

The therapeutic side of it is about challenging the beliefs that have become ingrained and changing the associated behaviours. Its like this challenge - we are challenging the negative beliefs that we can have that prevent us feeling good about ourselves and our situations. We do this by deliberately paying attention to the more positive things and the fact that we are achieving a lot in each day. As a result we tend to become more motivated, achieve more and generally feel more positive about things and also more active. To me it is like a spiral staircase - negative beliefs take you down towards feeling low and inactive and positive beliefs take us up towards feeling motivated and active. Hope all that makes sense ok :D

  • Is it me or does lolling around in bed all day make you feel even worse? I was at my boyfriends flat (shortly to be our flat!) and apart from being at the doctors at 10am, I have done precisely nothing.

I am now about to go to SW and sign up though, as I saw my weight on the scales today at the doctors and it is appalling. I am also booked into a zumba class tonight but keep wanting to wimp out of it.

    Right then :D

The reason i wasn't on earlier today is because i started off the day by going to my sewing class! Its the first time i have been in agesssss and with not getting much sleep i was very tempted to roll over and go back to sleep. Feel like giving myself 10 :) just for that one lol!

After that i had to take OH to a medical appointment as he was getting a steroid injection in his elbow!

I'm not planning on doing a lot this evening - nearly ready for sleeping already....but also we have got a cable to connect the lappy to the tv for watching netflix :D have to try that out!!

Few bits i want to do then

    superpoints

    swaggers up to 600+

    check ebay/amazon for sales

play free bingo daily games on fab

    put clean clothes away

add the other rollovers to my list for tomorrow!

Hope you all have a great evening :D
