Easyjet Hand Luggage- what to buy

  • Hello. I know this is an old thread, but I have been searching for a long time for a suitcase to get the most out of the larger Easyjet cabin luggage allowance (I never fly with Ryanair). Today I came across the Stratic Space 2 55cm trolley case which has quoted dimensions of 55cm x 42cm x 24cm and capacity 40-50 litres. That's the closest I have ever seen to the 56x45x25 allowance of Easyjet. It's available on Amazon for about £40.

Hope this helps other Easyjet regulars.
  • I have just purchased the XL Technique Carryall - 55x45x25cm, this has got to be the closest thing to the perfect hand baggage. Not sure how it will deal with weight, I've bought it to take a PC tower I built for the girlfriends kids. I'll update you on how it performs but feel free to have a look for it on Google, retails around £9.99, obviously this won't be ideal for everyone as some prefer to have wheeled trolley's to holdall's but just thought I would let you guys know about this anyway :)

Thanks for this, I'd been looking so long for a 55x45x25 bag that I was contemplating trying to make my own.

I have one of these: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/2863599/Trail/searchtext%3EZERO-G.htm

Fits Ryanair's allowance, along with the majority of the rest and it is very light. The case isn't as rigid as others, which I would never trust for hold luggage, but it fine as hand luggage. Mine has been on five holidays so far and looks like new (Ryanair, Jet2 and Monarch). Argos occasionally reduce it to £20 or £25. Note there is a version with spinner wheels, but this is slightly larger than the Ryanair allowance.

As mentioned above, buy the right case then you can fly with any airline - they're forever changing routes so you can't be sure who will fly where you want to go in a year's time.
  • I have used a shopping trolly like this $T2eC16NHJG!E9nm3o)!uBQPfMpZcww~~60_14.JPG$(KGrHqRHJBoE+Nw7rOmRBQN6mrV1E!~~60_14.JPG on easyjet many times. They hold loads you can get them off ebay for about £8 They have a plastic box type base.

This. I have spent so so long trying to find a bag that will cover all (ryanair, easyjet, major airlines) and this one has gone on 4 long hauls, and a couple of ryanair flights. It passed the ryanair cage test full with room to spare. I love it.

A case or bag that fits the ryanair cage with room to spare is the last thing a savvy flyer wants, the op wants a full size bag that fits with no room to spare in the EASYJET frame.....this is the whole point of the op's request.........

  • Get a grip. If the OP is only flying Easyjet and no other airline ever other than that, you are right.. if not, he/she isnt being "savvy" at all as easyjets baggage allowance is pretty leniant and even major airlines dont allow for that much, thus making her/him buy a different back for every flight, which isnt savvy at all.

I dont think getting a grip is the answer as those "grips" come in many sizes.
I am glad you state that i am right.
The op wanted to take advantage of the easyjet larger size cabin baggage allowance.........you know.....some people have two sizes of cabin baggage........one for ryanair and one for easyjet.....and have spent upwards of £6 for each.
Buy a different bag for every flight........now that's a bit extravagent......this is a money saving site after all

Try to get one where the pullout handle goes down two tubes the full length of the suitcase. I found this way the handle is sturdy and there is very little room taken up by the wheels and handle as they fold in.
It may be a little girly for you but New Look do some good ones where there seems to get lots of space for your dimensions! :) The top handles are floppy to so they barely take up any space in the airlines' hand luggage checker thingies!

I have taken mine on RyanAir, Easyjet and flybe airlines with no problems.
It seems everybody is missing the point of the op's request.......EASYJET HAND LUGGAGE........not ryanair or flybe, scuttle airlines or dan air,but THE LARGER EASYJET SIZE ALLOWANCE......56 x 45 x 25....where can he buy a carry-on of this size for easyjet ONLY......i know,i know, what a fool......but this was the request.....so the XL Technique (on ebay) fits the bill exactly, but is a soft shoulder bag sort of thing so may bulge if really stuffed full.....but this is the definative answer,i'll get me coat.
