This is hilarious. Name dropping that you are using a iPhone (but, weirdly, one that is incapable of getting its own name right). Then trying to impress us with the fact that you are claiming to be at the theatre. You really are one of a kind!

No i have an Iphone and have been using that for all posts except for my previous post. I was on the train home from work and have to use an Iphone for my messages. I am now home and as such have access to my HP laptop, which ironically has led to complaints about my spelling of Iphone.

There was no name dropping about the fact I own an Iphone as lets be honest the majority of the population either has an Iphone or a comparable smart phone. Its hardly something to be proud of! It was just a simple way of explaining why I was constantly misspelling the same word, it provided a frame of reference to (intelligent) people to explain why this was happening. Although to be honest spelling has never been my strong point as I have always been more of a numbers person.

Anyone with a modicum of intelligence would realise that the theatre line was tongue in cheek. I can honestly say that I have no interest in all at trying to impress people! My self confidence is strong enough for me not to need the admiration of people who have never met me!

    BTW, Goater.

    What play are you seeing?

As i've just said, it was a tongue in cheek joke. I am sorry it went over your head.

Although I am currently watching a documentary called "The Bridge". Its about a film crew who filmed the golden gate bridge for a year. I think its slightly sick as they have filmed a large number of people committing suicide off the bridge. The main guy in it (who hasn't jumped yet) is spending along time weighing it up before he kills himself. I am wondering why they didn't try and stop him as its obvious what he is about to do!

So to clarify, there are no restaurants in Iran?

Also, neither of my local Indian restaurants are licensed (neither do they have anything to do with India). They aren't takeaways, they aren't cafes I have always considered them to be restaurants, largely because that is what they are. What would you consider them to be?

Do they have a table cloth? I believe that is pivotal in distinguishing between a cafe and a restaurant.....

    Of course it was. rolleyes.gif

You've just being trying, in a rather pathetic manner, to impress us because you claimed to have watched a chess documentary.

Then you claim to be going to the theatre but, when you realise that if that were true you would have been accessing this site whilst watching the play it becomes 'a joke'.

You really are a buffoon, aren't you?

Yeah, right. That's what all that piffle about what TV programmes you watch was all about.

If you think anyone is gullible enough to believe that you must think they are as daft as your are. You were just trying to puff yourself up and when you realised that there were too many ways people would know you were lying you tried to back out of it by claiming it was TIC. Good Lord, you're a fool!

Yeah, right. That's what all that piffle about what TV programmes you watch was all about.

I seem to have touched a nerve here? I apologise if you like to watch the simpsons and poor british sitcoms that is perfectly acceptable. Millions of people do and I believe the Simpsons has been critically acclaimed in America?

If i wanted to pretend I was at the theatre I could have easily done that without any problems. However there is little point in lying on an internet forum to try and pretend you are better than you are!

Incidently the funny thing about the chess documentary was that there was actually very little chess in it. Its more about Bobby Fischer himself than chess which was a bit disappointing as it would have been interesting to see more of his actual chess playing and why he was so admired.

How would people know I was lying? I do actually go to the Royal Exchange in Manchester a couple of times a month so can easily fake being at the theatre if I so wished! Next time I go I will PM you if you wish! I was going to originally joke and say I was off to the libray! I'm glad I didn't now :)

Goater, a little tip for you: When you are in a hole, stop digging!

You were caught out in a sad little lie and it would be better to just let it drop rather than draw attention to it by insisting that it was a joke when it was clearly nothing of the kind. In what way would going to the theatre be a joke?

You are getting a bit of a reputation as the forum clown and it would be better if you did not add a reputation for dishonesty to that.

Well thats more eloquent than your original post :) I believe we've moved on now as to whether I was going to the theatre or not!

Sadly, I think it's now more about how many lies you are prepared to tell to bluff your way out of your original lie. :(

Apart from the joke about the theatre I don't think i've told a single lie! You all seem very upset about the fact I said I was going to the theatre. I am suprised it bothers you so much!

Even if i had originally lied to try and win your respect and had been "caught out" as Monglex so kindly states, why would I be bothered in the slightest? As i've seen from other posts you've made quite a few people dislike you. I find it very unlikely that you worry about that in the slightest as the opinion of people who have never met you is unlikely to matter (unless you have very low self esteem)
