    Looks like it's been extended!
    "Monday 23rd January - Sunday 29th January"

Oooh, that's good news, so does that mean if I spend my £40 today and use my wombled till spit, that I will get another one? or do I need to spend £45

Morning all - hope you are all ok.

Sharon what brilliant news - just so good to hear that someone is receiving some great news, it will make such a difference being debt free - i didn't realise how it drags you down having debts around your neck, its great to be able to breathe easily xx

Its my FIL's birthday today he's 68 so am in the middle of making him a birthday cake - Carrot Cake - his favourite, will post pictures when its finished. Had a really good weekend, we went and picked my OH's son up and also his uncle (FIL's brother) and they have been with us all weekend - spending a lot of time in the hospital with FIL, would never know he is ill to look at him, he looks so well, in fact better than he has done for years. He has been cigarette free now for over a week and he says to be honest he doesn't really miss it, just occasionally after he has eaten he says he could do with one, but two minutes later its all forgotten about.

I am so proud of him, to be honest he has been living with us as long as we have been together - even before we got married, and i really use to be horrible to him at times - telling him to shut-up, and to go upstairs out of my way, yet he has always been as nice as pie to me - never a nasty word from him about me or anyone else, i supose looking back i was just jealous as i wanted my OH to myself i didn't think that when we got together it would be love me love my dad, but when we got together we moved to a new town approx 50 miles away and his dad came to visit a couple of times, during one of these visits he had been with us for over 10 days, and i said shouldn't you be getting back home and make sure your home etc is all ok - his reply was i haven't got it any more i gave the keys back to the council, as i missed Andy (my OH) and have told everyone im now living with you !! as you can imagine i was gobsmacked, but couldn't see him out on the street especially as we had two spare bedrooms; so he has been with us ever since - 12 years.

I have an appointment (you have to make these now to speak to them) with his specialist this afternoon, but not too hopeful as they have already told us his brain tumour is not operable, just need to find out about everything else that is going on, so far we know that the brain tumour is a secondary cancer which has come from a type of lung cancer which is showing as being caused by asbestos.

Determined we are going to give him a great birthday - we have been told to bring him in a beer - so that should bring a smile to his face.
Hope you all have a brilliant day as i know we will - love to all xxx

I'm so glad your FIL is in such good spirits. He sounds like a wonderful kind man and you the perfect daughter-in-law :T
I'm sorry to hear that the brain tumour seems to be inoperable :(, but it's sounds like your FIL is taking it all in his stride and trying to stay cheerful.
I do hope he enjoy's his birthday with the beer and carrot cake and that you get some answers when you manage to speak with the specialist, and that will give you a clearer picture of what will happen next.
Sending hugs to you and OH, and birthday wishes for your FIL.

Well guys, better get cracking as the hot point/indesit van has just turned up as I am having the modem fitted on my FREE fridge freezer from that consumer survey thingy this morning!!!!

Also got need to sew the corners of 2 duvets together before I change my bedding (they kept going lumpy and when I tried to safety pin the corners, I got prodded when the 'safety' clips undid:eek:

Shaking here with disbelief, dunno if anyone remembers me mentioning a mystery ssa payment into my bank account.....well just off the phone with them and it seems theres been an error in my Carers allowance payments for 6 YEARS and they just back paid me:eek::eek:
So a couple more phonecalls and I will be debt free for the first time in my adult life!!!! And still have some left over......so drinks on me in HCs bar tonight

    :j:j:j:j:j:j:j Yeay Sharon!!
    Morning all :)

What does everybody think of this?

Tailor-made Tescos! Stores will adapt product range and deals to suit affluence of the area

"Move comes after nosedive in sales over Christmas.
Will promote value lines in poorer areas...... and top-of-the-range items in rich ones"

I think it's a another poor idea tbh. There are poor people in rich areas too vice versa.

Absolutely rubbish idea! The reason Tesco sales took a nosedive is probably a - because everyone else did and b - because of their underhand sales tactics! People are wise to being swindled these days!

Plus what are they basing their research on? The immediate geographic area i.e. 3 mile radius? That's not going to be indicative of who shops there! Knowing Tesco they'll balls it up and get it completely wrong!

i'm never using them again either, bank told me it would only be a few days for my new debit card but im not holding my breath as i thought it waould take 1-2 weeks like you it took 10 days!!

i did manage to get £30 out of it before it kept my card but ive already spent £25 so ive only got a £5 left, do you think if i go into my bank with a statement and id they could just let me get cash out of my account?

When I had my bag pinched all my replacement bank cards (Halifax, HSBC, Yorkshire & Barclays) came back within 2-4 days. Credit cards took 2 weeks. So with a bit of luck you'll have it back by the end of the week.

Cant work it out for life of me.

    My receipt shows
    Dessert cheapest free -£2.50
    Yoghurst 2 for £2. -0.60

The items that resemble desserts that i purchased are
    Ice lollies @ 1.29
    Weight watcher yoghurts @ 1.30
    Weight watcher yoghurts @ 1.30
    Munch bunch yoghurt @ 70p

Mc vities temptations mini rolls 10 x 10p

Need to work out where the 2.50 discount has been applied but remembering some glitches, it might not have been a dessert type item that set it of:mad:

Everything else was frozen meals, fruit and veg plus cereal.

Im assuming it has nothing to do with the lollies as they were 1.29

Anyone help, might be a good cross over somewhere

Sorry, thinking out loud, i also dont think it has anything to do with the cheap mcvities things as they were only 10p so would not make up the discount, if it was cheapest free id have only got 70p off. Getting

    Which items were £2.50 please?

This should help narrow it down. Even if it ain't dessert, if it's £2.50 then it's a contender. I'm ready to put it to the test:T
