Great day for me today. 15 vits + 15 shots + 8 shower gels for 43p at Boots, (RRP £61) then 60 Dormans Nuts for 60p + 5 Harry Hill Nuts for 5p at Tesco (RRP 65). Happy Times!!
For those of you who haven't already, get over to This BOOTS offer. It is as good as the Tesco batteries, custard/jelly and cartons of tomatoes offer!!0 -
bargainqueen8 wrote: »think you may mean someone else but i got trouted in boots today left a post on vits thread about it.i had 15 shots and 15 cheap vits&ricola,sa wouldnt let me have shots said i could only have 1 per transaction!!think i must have a guilty face got trouted on 1p descalers in mr t`s last week as well!!!wouldnt mind but i have worked in retailing for over 30 years and always make sure customers get a bargain where i can.
There's no way they should of refused. The offer is that every vitimin you buy, you get a free shot, for every 3 you buy, the 3rd shot(1'99) comes off as well. For every 5 shots you get, another 1.99 comes off. it dosen't matter about all the prices. If it show the price at the till. Boots will (should) honour it. (HO Conformation)0 -
bensonsmum wrote: »Evening all, hope you all had a great day, i went to the Boots sale, but to be honest was really dissapointed as there was next to nothing left, yet when i went in last night there was loads there - apparently people had been in just clearing the shelfs with a sweep of their arms, i got in there approx 9.30am and only christmas stuff, Gu chocolates and lavender smellies left, so instead i picked up 15 energy shots and 15 vitamins and stocked up on wet wipes and Gu chocolates - as you do!!
Went to M&S and got a couple of Bras and a pack of nick naks for a quid and 50p respectively. Also picked up a couple of pairs of mens PJ's for FIL as needing them whilst in hospital - and only £4!!
Then on to Mr T's picked up a disney princess pencil case set for 36p and also stocked up on the Ken Hom that is 2 x main meals and 2 x sides for a fiver - excellent value!!!
As i was leaving i had a phone call from OH - the news is my FIL has a brain tumour - don't know what type or if they will operate or what treatment will be undertaken yet - still waiting to hear back from specialists, but have been told we will know for sure tomorrow, as they were waiting for a few of them to get together today and look over the MRI scans etc. and decide what will happen next. I rang the hospital and spoke to FIL and he was full of beans, said food was great and could he have his glasses so he can see what the nurses look like - he said they sound lovely but can't be too sure as can't see them ( he is also partially sighted), i asked him if i could take him anything in when i go home on friday and he said a bus ticket out of there - i said its not that bad is it? he said no, but people die in places like this and he wants to make sure he gets his pension for the month first!! - still got a great sense of humour!! i told him i was trying to get cover so i could get home earlier, but he said i should stay where i was as there are bills that need paying and he doesn't want me to get into debt for his sake - love him xxx
At least you now have a diagnosis, even if it isnt the best news. But BT's ARE treatable. After tomorrow you will have a much clearer idea as to what type of tumour it is and the best course of treatment
And its good to hear that your FIL is in such good spirits :-)

I'm back! Keep getting the urge every evening at 7:30 to run down to A's for Whoopsie o'clock
:rotfl:
I really can't believe my luck, it's great :j Plus I had to redeem myself after my Bootsing disaster today!! Phewwww I think my MSE reputation has been redeemed! 2 big bags of shopping for 38p!!!!:T(including 2 whoopsied Kingsmill 50/50 loaves for which I had 2 coupons!)
So I got 8 pints of semi skimmed filtered milk, 1 pack pork and pickle pies, 1 garden salad, an Extra Special carrot cake, the 2 50/50 loaves of bread (which will be fed to the chucks) a crusty floured loaf of bread, pack of 2 cream horns and an almond croissant. 1 bag already gone to my neighbour, she keeps saying she should pay for it!! I said it's ok I've got bags of money!:rotfl:(joking obviously!!) and I'd never let her pay, it's just lovely to know she appreciates it and it's making things a little easier for her financially. She'd just used the turkey steaks I bought her last night to make a curry
Scamps....which stores are you raiding??!!!! I'm clocking up some serious mileage, it would be handy to know where not to bother!!
Off to catch up....AGAIN! :A'There are people who have money and people who are rich' :heart2: Coco Chanel0 -

I haven't caught up yet so don't know if your doggie is much better by now, hopefully she is if she's emptied her stomach of whatever it was that upset her. When my dog gets an upset stomach...(and it's usually down to all the animal carp she manages to wolf down when we're in the fields!) I usually start off with giving her a liitle rice with some fish.
I find chicken tends to make her a bit loose anyway (sorry!!) ...so although she loves it I wouldn't give it to her if she's had an upset tum.
Keep an eye that she doesn't become too dehydrated.Totally agree with you!:)
I do exactly the same with our dogs if they have an upset stomach.
I also give them just water for 24 hours.
Years ago a vet told me that you can also give them a dose of kaolin and morphine.
Thank you very much to everyone who offered advice about my sick dog. She's much much better today. She does really well with a chicken and rice diet so that's what I started her on today and she's been fine! She bounced back so quickly, nice to see her tail wagging againqueen_of_cheap wrote: »they definitely have had them in as the sel was there but the sa and pharmacy sa had no clue what i was talking about and i even had to show them their own display!!
I tried Cribbs last Monday (9th) and they were sold out. Last Weds I had 12 from there and there were more on the shelves. This Monday they were empty againSeems it's bloomin popular!!
