EXPIRED Boots Vitamins Discount Error

When buying vitamins at boots (in store) there is a deal where you get free boots re:energise shot with any vitamin product. There is also 3 for 2 on all vitamins.

As usual the cheapest item is free on the 3 for 2.

When you go to the till the re:energise shot is counted as an item in the 3 for 2, meaning that whenever you buy 1 item you can get a re:energise shot and another product (under £1.99) for free.

In my case, I bought a
wellman multivit - £8.79
codliver oil - £1.49
and picked up the re:energise shot which should be £1.99

The shot was discounted to 0.00

and then the codliver oil was also discounted to 0.00

leaving a total balance of £8.79 (just the multi vit)

I hope I've explained this well enough, basically, for every vitamin product you buy over £2.00 you can get anything else that's less than £1.99 for free if you pick up the re:energise shot. the shot isn't like a redbull, it's just a concentrated multivit drink, no caffeine.

Just a heads up. Wellmans vitamin £8.?? Are 3 for £10 in asda. Along with all vitamins. Well worth stocking up.

Thanks OP, good find. This reminded me of the fcuk lip balms deal from a while ago so I tried buying three of the free shot things with three packs of 79p multi vitamins, i also bought something else just in case it worked as I hoped.

End result was 3 for 2 on the vitamins AND the free shots giving me £1. 99 off the total bill!

Cashier looked very confused lol :rotfl:

Can't get my head around whether this would also work with 3 vitamins over £1. 99 though, will give it a try tomorrow in a store with self scan tills!

I did it again today, with the same vitamin items as the other day, bought 2 packs of throat sweets for 49p each along with the bits and paid 44p total, claimed saving on receipt over £8 - not that the vitamin drinks are worth anything like 2 quid! :-)

Hi Zoe,

It was the basic boots multi vitamins 79p each in a white tub red lid, scanned all three then the throat sweets, then the 3 energising things. Certain it will work on any other vitamins though but good experiment if you want to test the water first!

It's -57p when buying three was watching the subtotal as scanning it shows then offer discount on screen just as 342 so didn't think it was going to work but as you keep scanning the totals go into minus figures, I got six in one go and it took more money off:eek: so had to grab closest thing to me to add in, I had babywipes and 2 chocs which was over £3 worth and paid 42p
Great glitch hopefully the offer will be on for a while

Thanks, worked for me. 3 vits and 3 shots came to 41p off the rest of my shop.

If you can get a voucher from the ACM for £1 off wys £5 on healthcare, it works as well if you buy the 3+3 combo. Make sure you're buying other stuff too.

Am I correct in thinking that if I bought 3 x 79p multivitamins, it would work out to be:

+0.79 (multivitamin)
+0.79 (multivitamin)
+0.00 (free multivitamin)
-1.99 (re:energise)
-1.99 (re:energise)
-1.99 (re:energise)

total: -4.39 off rest of shopping (??)
