I was going to train as a settler but got offered work elsewhere. Only thing that stops me going in a bookies now is the FOBT 's what a rip-off:eek: I still go to the dogs regularly. Great night out :T

    The hobnob maker was me!!!!!!
And here's the recipe and it's so very easy - I did find the recipe on here posted by twinks I think so thanks twinks Hobnob Recipe

    Ingredients

    8oz sr flour
    8oz sugar
    8oz porridge oats
    8oz margarine
    1tbsp golden syrup
    1tbsp hot water
    1/2 tsp bic soda

    Instructions

Mix the flour, oats and sugar, melt marg, syrup and water in a pan. Stir in bic soda and add to dry mix.!

Then mix well and make into smallish balls which you then put on a greased tray and flatten slightly with a fork. Put in the oven at 180 degrees C for 15 mins... and cool on the tray. The aim is to get them golden in the oven not brown.!

Enjoy and please post your piccies
I've been making cheese biscuits today - pictures to follow

  • Afternoon all, good luck to all those with docs and hospital appointments. Had my fill of the medical profession today!! Took DH to the hospital at 7.15 this morning for his angiogram(up at 6 to put a casserole in the slow cooker). Planned on dropping him off and heading to Ts but he's a bit of a wuss where docs are concerned and asked me to stay . Got him through the initial admission and his needles all in his arm when DD texted to say she had been sick again and needed to stay home from school . Convinced him I wasnt needed at the hospital so came home to get her an appt with the gp. Appt was for 10.40, didnt get seen till 11.30 during which time we had to run to the toilets twice for her to be sick :(....full blood tests ordered so trotted off to the nurse, waited half an hour to be seen and shes so flamin dehydrated it took 45 mins and 3 nurses to get blood from her . Been marked as urgent so hopefully results tomorrow. Got her home to bed, sat down with a cuppa to catch up and just got a phonecall from hospital to pick DH up at 2.15 (all went well but no results yet). So 2 patients to look after and no shopping trips for me....ready for bedtime

I couldn't agree more about the fobts but unfortunately they keep most shops open now !
The only time I have ever put money/played them is to test the coin mech - think I could like them too much and I know who always wins and it's not the punter!
Not been dog racing in years used to go to Peterborough dogs!
Belle vue is now my local so must make an effort as the are always cheap deals £2 to get in and food & a bet so something daft like that

Is it just me or are there not many clips trips at Mr Ts anymore - went clips tripping today and a lot of aisles where normally lots eg toilet rolls, cereal and pasta there weren't any?

    Anyone else noticed this?
