JJ, regarding potatoes, my exMIL used to use mashed potato to make scones.

Glad you do a spreadsheet too Fudge_cake, it's the only way to keep track! For the first year ever, I managed to do one through the whole of the year, and came out under budget, but it takes some doing, and stamina at times!

I have a very flexible meal plan. Usually try to plan it for a week, using up whoopsies from the freezer, or if there's too much say of one meat type, will buy others, or look for others. It's changeable, depending on what whoopsies I find, and if there's room in the freezer to store things, or if they need eating straight away.

I always bulk buy any of the food glitches/good value.

Still have some food from DTD, concentrate on non perishables, rather than Olay etc etc that lots were going for.

Tonight's dinner is lasagne, lasagne sheets from when they were 17p a packet. Home made sauces. Cheese from BOGTF and coupons. Salad from whoopsies. There will be a portion frozen for youngest to have Tuesday. He doesn't like fish, that night, the other 2 will have whoospied sallmon fillets with salad and potato salad. (still have 3 bags of 5p whoopsied pots in the cellar).

I stocked up with various jams/marmalades/syrups from the 342 offers. Bread and rolls are always whoopsies (T's or M's) get a good selection then :)

I get 12 very large eggs from a friend for 70p. Make my own cakes/buns/flapjacks/scones/tray bakes.

We all have packed lunches, often sandwich fillings are whoopsies..

It does mean going most evenings to shop, but my DS's are used to it.

Still have 2 large honeydew melons at 20p, from last week. Cherries and grapes in the fridge.

Also use my local market for fresh produce. Sometimes they're cheaper than the supermarkets, sometimes not.

Firmly believe in spavving, as well as whoopsieing and wombling!

    hth! x

Midwinter, you are an inspiration. :A

Pretty sure I got 3 through the last time, then it went into meltdown lol and the SA had to put them through! Got there in the end though ;)

I'm sure it's 2 in general then the SA has to put each one after that through individually.Quicker to go through a manned till with coupons then come back again if you are buying 1p items!:D

been to work today, still look like one of the adams family as still under the weather:eek:. Can't wear make up as working with food:eek:

But did manage to go on the 2p choccie hunt. Forgot about the fingers but was on the foxes hunt. Went to 3 asdas and no foxes.

Felt like swearing a la H.C:rotfl:But low and behold in our big asda did find boxes of the purple chocolate, christmas wishes, galaxy and chocolate cadbury decorations.

Remembering others advice on stocking up, bought two big bagfuls.:D

Also popped to the nearby boots to find a 3 shots and 3 99p vitamins.

If you are out and about tomorrow in the hood andreavinne, it might be worth a look. Its the big asda near the police station, just round the corner from L.V.:rotfl:
