I remember a cold wet night in Manchester a few years ago we played United in the cup, they played their reserve team & Tevez, he scored
It's nearly always raining in Manchester makes you :j when its like today cold but fine.
Tevez was a good player when he played for United just said he didnt like Manchester then signs for City how daft was that0 -
That's the same format as ours but it is missing the "Designed By Susan William Ellis" line. Not sure what significance this has in terms of age?
Is yours the top stamp::A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

This green backstamp is used in two situations.
1. On all items in the Botanic Garden and Pomona ranges that were not of "First Quality", i.e. a "Second". These can often now be bought at the factory shops, but they are never described as being of "First" quality and are sold at a reduced price.
2. On items made that used a "retired" design. This enabled retired transfers to be used on new items, not always the original shape. i.e. An 8 inch plate transfer used on something else. This may, of course, be quite desirable, but it is not an original item.
If, say, an old 10 inch plate transfer is used on a new 10 inch plate, it will have this green oval backstamp and it is effectively a reproduction.
These remarks do not apply to the oval backstamps in other colours.
The set is exceptionally rare in the sense that I cannot find it on the net anywhere which raised hopes but the green back stamp has dashed em somewhat!
Told you I was no expert! Me and my squiggles:rotfl::rotfl: Never mind it's still a nice set:)Awaiting a new sig0 -

The stamp you have on your Portmeirion Botanic Garden cheese lid & plate is an old one. late 70's maybe - I'll get my book out & check.
The first ones were oval plain, then came the horseshoe shape & then dishwasher safe was added etc
I did know it is a cheese plate & lid but by the time I got this far you've done your home work :T
Will go & be back xxOur Family Motto ~If all else fails - read the instructions...
