Morning everyone, bit miserable and grey looking here. Waiting for the magic phone call from "The manager that doesnt speak to customers" in a certain electrical store to tell me I can collect my new laptop;) Then will nip into the T's opposite for a quick look.
I know someone will know the answer to this cos you're all so clever. How and whats the best, free, virus control I can download for my new lappie or should I just buy one? I've always been a bit scared to download one in case it doesnt work, but I trust you lot to give me the right advice;)

    AVG or Avast

I'm too [STRIKE]tight[/STRIKE] money saving, to pay.

I use Avast for anti virus; zone alarm (free version) for my firewall and a couple of the free anti spyware programmes. Plus Burn4free (DVD) tools.

These people helped me build my first pc a few years ago and I have stuck with them, coz they know a lot:D There are some free software links on this thread.

RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.
