Never been to Banbridge. I'm a creature of habit and even driving to J1 or Sprucefield scares me as I hate getting lost (ever since I drove up one of two roads in Belfast many years ago that would scare you).

My mum and aunt are llike this. When my mum first got her licence over 10 yrs ago she had only ever been outside Belfast by bus and train so started to panic when thinking about driving anywere.
My DH sat her down and explained about the main routes out of Belfast and how it was a small island and at some point she'd end up back in Belfast :D or spot a very big sign directing her there :rotfl:
As for going up a few notorious roads, she now goes up both but my Aunt starts to shake and it's very obvious that she's "from the other side" so no one will take her because of the way she acts.

I've worked in both communities and have only had a few small minded people asking what side I belong to but you can spot the ones who'll ask you a mile off because may of them have lived, socialised and never mixed with people outside of the area they live in (a bit like my aunt!!) Thankfully it's getting so much better and there's more being done to integrate both communities.

We've brought our son up to take people as he finds them and he didn't know what religion he was/is, to such an extent that a boy in his class asked all the other boys what religion and race they were because his dad said he could only play with protestants and white people my son said he didn't know.
There were a lot of complaints from parents because the school is a mixed religion and mixed race one, thankfully the kids didn't know what he was on about :D
In my son's words "his dad's silly, he said he wasn't to play with black people but there are no black people in our school! There's brown, tanned, yellow, pink and some white skinned people but no black skinned one's, how silly is he!" the words of a then 5 year old, so wise.
Sorry went off on a tangent there :D

Morning everyone, bit miserable and grey looking here. Waiting for the magic phone call from "The manager that doesnt speak to customers" in a certain electrical store to tell me I can collect my new laptop;) Then will nip into the T's opposite for a quick look.
I know someone will know the answer to this cos you're all so clever. How and whats the best, free, virus control I can download for my new lappie or should I just buy one? I've always been a bit scared to download one in case it doesnt work, but I trust you lot to give me the right advice;)
    Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:

    Evening all,

Haven't been able to keep up for a while so i have read just random pages. I had over 300 pages to catch up on - it would just be mission impossible for me.
A bit late but Happy new year everyone.
Congratulations sunshinestar on new baby - i hope she is doing well.
I have been keeping an eye on a kung-fu panda portable dvd player it's bright yellow it was £79.99 down to £49.99 so hopefully it will go down further. I have been trying to get the 1p toilet rolls, but keep getting trouted - could someone please buy them and take them away from temptation and prevent me from any further embarrassment they are in Lu*g*n. There are also some 6 person tents there for about £37 if anyone is interested and some chuggington repair sheds for £6.
Nice to see you back Happymum and Happy New Year to you too. L*rg*n isn't a store I normally go to even though its just a few miles away, the lack of scanners and the obvious trouts p*ss me off:rotfl: but I have to head that direction later so I may take that challenge, time permitting as I havent found ant Andrex in C'avon:D

I'm a creature of habit and even driving to J1 or Sprucefield scares me as I hate getting lost (ever since I drove up one of two roads in Belfast many years ago that would scare you). Used to love J1 as they had a place called Kitch'n'Sync (kitchen sink - geddit :o) but it's closed, Ralph Lauren has gone, Next outlet is pathetic as is the M&S one and apart from that all I can remember is Starbucks.

I love a challenge but a bit far out of the way for me. You really need to pick your SA of if that store has SS tills, pick a busy time of the day or bring a cohort with you to distract the SA while you scan & pay as quick as possible. I managed 14 with a student yesterday so it is possible.

Anyone cider drinkers here? Got a £1 bottle of Stella Cidre and me & the folks were surprised at how nice it was. Are all ciders similar or as similar as they can be in that they're not like the cheap stuff you bought underage from the offy (white lightning anyone ). Wish I'd known cider was nice back when the Magners was glitching but you live and learn eh?

Right off to watch NCIS or Desperate Housewives - whichever I find first in the planner. Night all

Banbridge is pretty good but I know what you mean about driving, I hate driving in the city, it scares the carp outta me and I avoid it as much as possible, Rarely go to the centre and take the train if I do, even going to the Oddessy or George Best airport makes me panic:rotfl:
Never tried Stella cidre but Magners and Bulmers are nice, esp on a hot day with plenty of ice:beer:(white lightning :rotfl:those were the days)
:heart2:Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.:heart2:

Terrapins the size of dinner plates live in the river here & also the nature reserve. At least they are surviving :D My poor parents have a herd of tortoises from our youth. They kept laying eggs that hatched (in airing cupboard) & it got out of hand. Now they are separated (males & females) & have a garden each :)

The reason the terrapins are so big, is that they eat all the local wildlife!:(
Is a very good wrapper, with a big bunch of keys!!!!;)

I is dyalectic, sorry for spelling grammmmmmmarrrrrrr xx:rotfl::D

AVG was recommended to me a couple of years ago, but I have no idea if it is still as good now.

ETA Or ask the nice people to throw one in for free, because of the hassle you have had to put up with.
Something unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.
