Def use your advantage card as you get the points for the free vitamins too.. ... can they give us anymore I wonder??
Don't want to contradict or cause any unnecessary worry but just a word of caution on this. Boots do flag cards in exactly the same way that T's does and can and do revoke them (points included) if they think there has been any "abuse". In the same way I am selective about when I use my clubcard, I would be the same with a Boots AC. I am not at all suggesting that exploiting this glitch is abuse, but if you are having several runs at it you may want to think about whether or not you use your card.0 -
Morning all. As luck would have it, karma struck this morning. The Ex and his kid are both ill so the boys are staying put with me today. What's annoying me is that he would like some flexibility so he can see the boys later this week yet dragged me through court so a judge could set in stone when he can see them!!
Thank you all for the kind posts. I know sometimes I take things a bit thick but after being bullied for years and not realising it, I'm hyper-defensive now. So apologies if I offend anyone. I never set out to be some super mum who does it all. I do what I can for the boys and some day they will see the sperm donor for what he is.
Legal aid - I wasn't entitled at the beginning of the court case as I was above the savings limit. A solicitor at Womens Aid had told me not to hide my finances as it could cause issues so I had no choice but to hire the solicitor there and then as I had only a couple of days notice for the summons (lovely ex didn't tell me he was dragging me to court). I did get emergency LA at the end though. Normally they don't allow it mid-case (and it wasn't backdated) but as my solicitor pointed out, all I had to do was sack her then I could hire any solicitor (including her though she never said that outright) and apply for LA so why not cut out the middle mad and just allow the LA from that point. The lovely people that decide approved it so it only cost me £1200  That's my savings gone.
So I see the Boots glitch is still working :j Will have to drag the boys with me today but I'll see if I can make a day of it for them and get lunch while we're out (I'll go without and get coffee, DS2 can have his baby food so just a cheap sarnie for DS1).0 -

The basic curry sauce is simmering away now, and it smells absolutely divineDefinitely curry for dinner tonight, just gotta choose which one!
Is there any chance of having the recipe - these welsh cakes of yours sound absolutely lush!!! will love you for ever :A:A:A
8oz plain flour
3oz sugar
4oz "fat" I use half salted butter and half lard - can use all butter if preferred
½ tsp baking powder
pinch nutmeg
2oz currants
1 egg
splash of milk if needed
Rub the fat and flour together as if making pastry so you get the breadcrumb stage
Chuck rest of dry ingredients in
add the egg to form a soft dough (use milk if too dry)
Roll out on a floured board
cut into circles (I use a drinking glass)
pop onto a heated bakestone for 2-3 mins per side
Use a non stick frying pan instead of a bakestone
Place on a wire rack to cool and sprinkle with sugar[/QUOTE]
Thanks Miss L, they look lovely and I'll be trying them at some point when my diet is being kinder to meMorning all. As luck would have it, karma struck this morning. To go with my cake I have made a Haagen das type icecream.
Buy the value 2 litre vanilla icecream from Ts around 90p. When you get home add a very generous glug of Irish cream and half a jar of honey. Whisk together and put back in tub to refreeze. Absolutely delicious!!!!
Now my mouth is really watering - my two favourite things in the world to eat are "coffee cake with coffee buttercream and haagen dazs praline and cream ice cream" if yours is anything like these, can i please move in ??? please!!! please !!!!:):):):):):):)Very proud to be Strip club member No 430 -

You get 1 free shot per 1 lot of vitamins
Vitamins are 3 for 2 so assuming you buy 3 you get 3 free shots and would pay only for 2 vitamins.
The shots are also coming up on 3 for 2 so assuming you buy 3 vitamins at 79p, 2 are chargeable but you end up with credit of 41p as the extra £1.99 on the "free" 3 for 2 shot comes off.
This is where is gets strange, the same principle works for 6 vits and 6 shots BUT you get 1 extra £1.99 come off so you would get a £2.81 credit for 6 shots and 6 x 79p vits.
Most people haven't been trouted, surprisingly but just make sure your other items cover the negative although it seems that a trout will spot a problem whichever way you give them to be scanned. HO however say that the deal can't be altered instore and they must honour it but I overheard that yesterday with SA on phone. They were lovely about it though no problems at all.
Have fun!Learn from the past, enjoy and appreciate the present and work to make your future the best it can possibly be
And get lots of glitches!0 -

I found them in Lurg@n, G1D, prob a bit far for you to travel but they are out there. No sel or scanners instore so I just got one to try and it went through at 27p. Good luck xx
Morning all, havent posted in a few days but have been lurking (seem to have lost my T's mojo atm). Think all the stuff with the kids granda passing last week and DDs distress have caught up with me so been taking it easy trying to avoid a major fibro flare up.
Glad to see the spirit of the thread is back, as Im sure our missing friend would want. So many people I wanted to reply to but brain fog wont let me remember so massive hugs to those in need, thanks to those for recipes and stash piccies (well jealous!!) and heres hoping for a massive glitch soon:heart2:Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.:heart2:0 -
Vitamins on 3 for 2 / 79p + 79p + (79p) 0p = £1.58 Free in brackets
Shots on 3 for 2 / £1.99 + £1.99 + (£1.99) £0.00 = £ 3.98
Shots also free / -£1.99 + -£1.99 + -£1.99 = -£5.97
£1.58 + £3.98 = £5.56 - £5.97 = -41p0 -
