Do we really have to degenerate things to this? This is not going to help anyone at all. One thing I am certain of....HC would not want the result of all this to be the thread's closure.

I don't read or post on this thread often so I'm not part of the close community but as a lurking outsider I have never been offended by any of HC's posts. As a parent I wouldn't be offended if my 13+ child read his posts either because I should be monitoring what they are doing/reading on the internet (there is a lot of nasty stuff out there far worse than a few swear words).

I understand mod and admin have a difficult job as I am an admin of a forum myself and sometimes you have to make choices for the forum as a whole when in your heart you do not want to make those choices. So I can sympathise with the situation they are in. I would however have made more allowances for his illness and followed him around editing his posts for a few weeks with comments as to why I had edited them. Maybe one of his friends (who he would probably listen to) would have had a few stern words with him. Maybe a post in this thread to say any more bypassing of the filter sytem and you will get a yellow card so again those he knows and trusts can help him and remind him when he gets too comfortable.

It just seems such a shame he has been pushed oaway from what was probably a very good support network and one he will never get again because his illness provides him with lots of social barriers 90% of us do not have. :(

:T probably one of the best lines of reasoning I have read so far .... don't lurk come and join us - we don't bite .... unless asked :D

I agree, we do need to move on now if only to preserve this thread and its community :o

Post of the day! Well said!

I had no idea what aspergers was till HC came on this forum, I'm still a bit bemused by it all now to be honest but at least I have some idea of the difficulties he must have through no fault of his own in forming long standing friendships etc and the way some people make little or no allowance for his condition.

He can count me as a friend too! :)

I too have gained an insight into something I knew nothing about and now may be more tolerant of behaviours I've seen in some people:o
In fact, after the earlieralmond post about a child talking about "lines on nana's face etc" I'm beginning to wonder whether my niece has undiagnosed mild aspergers? She has always made remarks that seemed to be "socially clumsy" and hence led to them being a bit of an outsider in the family. As an example she commented loudly,at a family gathering, that our daughter would look really pretty if she lost a bit of weight:eek: This was not when they were both children but in their early twenties. My daughter was naturally very upset but her cousin couldn't understand what was wrong.

Having said that both of her parents have a tendency to do the same sort of thing.:(

yes he did offend me, and yes i did report im. he sent me 4 vouchers, hardly a pile is it?. but it was at a time when he was sending everyone vouchers as well. so i wasnt favoured at all. i hope this thread gets closed i seriously do.

seriously? You have a very big chip on your shoulder regarding HC and I'm not sure why? He offended you, he apologised - you came forward and told everyone it was you who reported him, so why not let it drop?

As I said before, this thread has always consisted of chit chat as well as bargains...whats the problem here...do you think people are staying in to post about Hc instead of doing their duty and going glitching at Ts? If so, then you're also guilty of that!

Otherwise, people will still put their relevant bargain posts on here...AS WELL as supporting their friend.

You dont have the right to 'move' our support to elsewhere...and by showing a continued lack of humanity and tbh a downright rude attitude, its more likely to result in a lack of overall posts by regulars - if we cant post to share our support for each other, they arent going to want to share their finds either are they?

If you dont like the banter/conversation/ad-hoc OT chit chat on here...then dont read it...go and read the other Ts thread!

Why you 'wish' this thread was closed is beyond me....just dont read it if it offends you so much.
hoping for a very MSE Ts glitching 2012!
  • I really honestly can't believe some of the posts that have been made :(

But Kadison is right, as much as we all want Happy back, we do need to watch otherwise we're going to lose the thread althogether :(

I'm signing off for now, DD and I are going for a walk in the rain before I go to work. Hope things have calmed down by the time I finish work. See you all later x
