I know this is OT but that a few are on diets at the moment, is anyone on Atkins? Me and my DH started this a few days ago on advice from the consultant endocrinologist. I just wondered if anyone had any tips for getting through the induction and beyond - thanksIf it wasn't for blinds it'd be curtains for all of us:dance:0

Since then I've been suffering with a bit of a cough, some chest pain and discomfort and a quite distinct shortness of breath and a bit of slight lightheadedness specially when i bend down then get up again.
I suffer severe anxiety anyway so I guess the worry is not doing me any favours either!
Have a docs appointment of friday so will see what he has to say. I really don't like this breathlessness though one bit!
I have had a cold which turned into a chest infection got antibiotics for that. I was in a bit of pain when that was at its hight and a bit lightheaded but had no weird/nasty taste or feeling in throat or chest.
Last night it was like someone was sitting on my chest, I tried to sit, stand and lie in different positions, even walked about and stretched to see if it would go away. Eventually I woke my Mum because it hurt so much but because my DS is in the next room I woke him too. Both of them started panicking and DS started crying and telling me he couldn't loose me either and I had to be OK for him.
Ambulance arrived and I hyperventilated then fainted.
Still feel sore now but not as bad as last night, I'll be lying more upright tonite to see if that helps me.
PS I'm also prone to anxiety, suffered really bad 3 years ago and then again after DH died. I think it was just that which caused me to faint

Not entirely sure how an endocrinologist can recommend a diet but having known a few friends try Atkins, I wouldn't recommend it.
I think most if not all of us on diets are doing Slimming World, it's fab and you can work it to be low carb like Atkins if need be but it's a lot LOT healthier! No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023

Finally caught up again. Here's hoping that HC is back soon (especially as I didn't finish reading the last thread so never saw what the shoes went for in the end!)
Been a couple of up & down days, first no 1p choc in either my local Express or Extra, then today in another Express found both Cadbury & Lindt with proper 1p bar code and both scanned at full price:(
On a better note, the trolley I went to use had some receipts already in it (from an hour before) and one wasn't a receipt at all but £4 off a £30 spend, however like Miss Laid I'm wondering how I can spend that much :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I also managed to get some hairstraighteners for all of 2p after DTDso DD1 is getting some great presents for her 13th B.day thanks to Mr T:D
I also took advantage of the Boots vitamin glitch, plus advantage machine gave me a £1 off voucher & 25% off deodrant, which was great as Sure was already discounted to half price... my haul went as follows: 2 mulit vits, 4 vit c, 6 re energise shots, 6 Sure roll ons, 2 packs of baby wipes and a pack of paracetamol all for the cold hard cash amount of £2.98:D:D
Did click on multi quote as had loads I wanted to answer to by none of them have shown up so now I can't remember.....
Apart from scanbran, I top one with frozen raspberries, sweetner & mullerlight and leave for the raspberries to defrost, it's filling, can be a breakfast or dessert and tastes less like cardboard this way
well done on getting dtd on the straighteners can you please tell me which ones they are??Hello my name is nahteb20 and i am a T's Glitch & Bargainaholic.......0 -
Sorry about the car but ......... what £1 vouchers? Debated stocking up during the last Mothercare glitch but they weren't working out cheap enough (need them to be less than 1p each to be a bargain!)
I could have written that almost word for word. Just over a year ago I took a nasty chest infection while preggers. I have asthma albeit seasonal and sports induced (no winter marathons then) and very rarely have to use my inhaler.
One night my cold was so bad that even trying to move in bed was making me breathless. I also had a nasty cough so I was literally lying in the spare room with throat soothers constantly in my mouth, a glass of water, boxes of hankies and my blue inhaler. I woke up the next morning, had a few drags of a crafty ciggie (yes I know, very very naughty) and ended up phoning the doc.
Went down by taxi as of course the ex had the only working car (mine) in work with him. Doc immediately put me on a nebuliser but because I was preggers I oculd only have a low dose of steroids. Was told if things didn't improve to go to A&E so needless to say I was back there a few hours later hooked up on another nebuliser.
I've never had so many chest infections or problems with breathlessness as I have had since I quit. I have an almost constant lump in my throat, the slightest hint of a cold and I'm on the stronger inhaler and if I get an infection it's back on steroids. I should probably see the doc about the lumpy throat but I'm not at deaths door so shall continue my regime of avoiding the doctors!
So major sympathies to grumpy1sdaughter and spirallingdown.
No major bargains today bar some Xmas stuff and baby food. Tomorrows dinner in the over. Whoopsied veg (2 x 30p), whoopsied potatoes (40p bag), whoopsied chicken (free due to multisave error), chicken casserole sachet (2 for £1). So that's £2 for somewhere between 4 and 6 dinners :T
Oh, I had forgotten that, doc called the nurse in and I had about 10 mins of the nebuliser, then 10 minutes later, he took my blood pressure again, which was marginally higher. I know that night I couldnt get upstairs and spent the next two nights sleeping on the sofa propped up with pillows. Isnt it funny what you do forget...0 -
