Sorry about the car but ......... what £1 vouchers? Debated stocking up during the last Mothercare glitch but they weren't working out cheap enough (need them to be less than 1p each to be a bargain!)

I could have written that almost word for word. Just over a year ago I took a nasty chest infection while preggers. I have asthma albeit seasonal and sports induced (no winter marathons then) and very rarely have to use my inhaler.

One night my cold was so bad that even trying to move in bed was making me breathless. I also had a nasty cough so I was literally lying in the spare room with throat soothers constantly in my mouth, a glass of water, boxes of hankies and my blue inhaler. I woke up the next morning, had a few drags of a crafty ciggie (yes I know, very very naughty) and ended up phoning the doc.

Went down by taxi as of course the ex had the only working car (mine) in work with him. Doc immediately put me on a nebuliser but because I was preggers I oculd only have a low dose of steroids. Was told if things didn't improve to go to A&E so needless to say I was back there a few hours later hooked up on another nebuliser.

I've never had so many chest infections or problems with breathlessness as I have had since I quit. I have an almost constant lump in my throat, the slightest hint of a cold and I'm on the stronger inhaler and if I get an infection it's back on steroids. I should probably see the doc about the lumpy throat but I'm not at deaths door so shall continue my regime of avoiding the doctors!

So major sympathies to grumpy1sdaughter and spirallingdown.

No major bargains today bar some Xmas stuff and baby food. Tomorrows dinner in the over. Whoopsied veg (2 x 30p), whoopsied potatoes (40p bag), whoopsied chicken (free due to multisave error), chicken casserole sachet (2 for £1). So that's £2 for somewhere between 4 and 6 dinners :T

See reply above to sunshine for explanation on the huggies vouchers.

I hear you about the throat thing too! Its like I have a tiny lump which needs constant clearing...right in that deep pit just before your ribs start! If I do clear it with a deep cough it always produces 'something' not nasty stuff like you'd have from a cold but just like a little ball of mucous (scuse the description).

had that for ages but always assumed it was just irritation from a bit of reflux. Now I'm not so sure!

Trouble is I hate going to the docs and rarely go unless I think I'm about to keel over lol........I wonder if celebrate could do an online surgery???? :D

Oh, and btw, been informed by someone in the know at Boots Ly0ns F@rm, W0rth1ng that there is loads of stock that needs to go, but to expect the 75% off towards the end of the month... hoping to get the heads up so I can pass on to you all. I don't usually go, but now having seen what's in the shop (on my vitamin mission) and having loads of teenage girls to buy for, might just go this year :)

If only I had waited 'til DD was in bed instead of going before :doh:I would have been there at 8! You win some, you lose some I suppose. Drove up there signing my wee heart out all excited and drove home in silence :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Babyliss Pro 2300 Elegance, bc 0988. It appears a lot of the beauty products sale prices end on 24/01, so how unfortunate for me to pick up the one that ended yesterday (10/01) but hadn't had the SEL removed ;)

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: thank you :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Was looking forward to some Huggies vouchers but alas, not meant to be.

My 'lump' is just below where you Adam's Apple would be. If you follow your throat down to where you feel the 2 nobbly bones either side, that's where it is. Sometimes I get something up but more often than not I don't. I've had this most of the last year. There was me thinking that by now, I'd feel better for not smoking :(

  • :hello:Good evening Elite, hope everyone's well :A

I've been pretty busy today. Went on the bus as I really can't justify more petrol money after my 70 mile trip on Monday! :o Set my alarm to see if the 75% Boots sale was on, saw that it wasn't and went back to bed for a couple of hours :D Caught the bus to my nearest Boots with SS as the vitamin glitch is still on...woop woop! Was so pleased when the sheves had both the cheap vitamins and shots as I was convinced it would be empty :T So I managed 3 lots of 6, got myself in the most horrendous pickle though, very embarassing, the SA's must have thought I was a nutter :oI was in there for 1hr15mins!! Good job it's a big store :p Anyone that's done the Boots glitch (particularly those that have done it a few times) can you tell me please tell me if you've used your Advantage card each time? TIA

Bl00dy bus broke down on the way back :( Can't complain really though, the driver was fab and got us going again quite quickly :)

Needed milk tonight and used up a £4 off £20 conditional spend and some coupons to bring a shop down from £20.67 to £10.67 in my local T's. Yesterday I popped in for eggs but no clipstrips so imagine my surprise to see 4 clipstrips full of Lindt eggs with the correct stickered barcodes....scanning at £1.50 :mad: Tbh I wasn't surprised after the press coverage but still :p

Off to catch up on what I can :D

Hi everyone! Just back from a very successful trip to T's :D

Managed to get some Disney Princess colouring wheels high on a shelf with no SEL - £1.88. Got the Dettol no hand wash after finding a £3 moc in with newborn bounty pack.

The Huggies wipes had buy 2 get 1 free SEL but they did scan through at buy 1 get 2 free.

What made the trip so successfull was that the Cuddle Me snowglobes had SEL of 27p - I picked up 4 of them and was charged £8 each :eek:

Went to CS and could feel myself going a bit red about the face! CS kept saying it must be the wrong product but after checking the barcode confirmed I had been overcharged. She then called for a manager who said that she'd bought one the other day for 27p. CS was figuring out the refund and said to the manager 'So she gets refunded....' the manager then butted in saying '£31!' CS kept pointing at a figure on her till screen and the manager said twice more 'She gets £31 back!' I then piped up 'Isn't it meant to be DTD?' The managers face was a picture!! She stormed off muttering that she would have to speak to the store manager first. Five mins later and she appears back saying that he'd said just to give me the money. £61.92 back:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
