And totally O/T DS has to pass a step exam as part of his Cambridge offer and really wants a tutor.Private schools teach step as part of their teaching but his comp doesnt so I said ok lets go for it. How much £51 an hour!!!!!:eek::eek::eek:

My son had a scholarship to a big public school and he had special tutoring to pass his Cambridge interview. He did not get in (but went to Durham and got a good degree) so the school refunded the payment we had to make for the special tutoring. Maybe you could negotiate with the tutor that if he does not get in then you could get a refund. Am I right we think the Boots 75% sale is tommorow??[/QUOTE]

How can you ask a tutor for a refund if you dont get in, thats like asking your driving instructor for a refund if you dont pass.

Seems a day for firsts. My local never seems to have any of the 1p things in stock......this is despite me going round every aisle whether i need to go down there or not. Except they did have the mini eggs. Yum.

All I need now is for them to bring down the whoopsied meat. They never take much money off.

Its not easy parking even with a blue badge is it. I got a ticket parked on a yellow with no loading stripes on the kerb, didn't know what they were but paid.

Other ticket was on a double yellow with badge I was sent a letter with a photo of my car taken by one of those robot cars. I didn't dispute my car was there but said I was parked legally as there were no signs or kerb markings re no loading, they tried to scare me and said I could appeal but I would have to submit my evidence in advance & attend somewhere in London, I sent my evidence said I would go to the appeal appt but wanted a photo of the signage, I know the area very well they sent me a photo of a lampost on the other side of the road with the sign on. I proved that was the wrong lampost surprise surprise they said they'd let me off this time (flippin cheek I was right) so I didn't need to go anywhere.

Its worth a try querying it, saying its your first time getting a ticket, if it is with that council etc etc

Yes it is the first ticket I've ever had in 30 years of driving!
I'm not holding my breath.... but as I wasn't trying it on and it was a genuine mistake, I'm hoping someone nice reads my appeal!!

Just popped on for a quick "HI" to everyone.

Not sure what day it is to be honest. 2 DDs safely back to uni, along with cases of clean and ironed washing and bags of Old El Paso and jellies and custards. :D Totally shattered yesterday was no good to anyone. Lurked a bit and only tried couple expresses for the 1p choc didn't realise working extras too. :o I was chasing snow bites from Sainsbobs at 10 times the cost.

Ah well did get vits and shots from Boots and so looking forward to 75% off there. And Nikki I have done what you are contemplating, trying to look for signs night before. ;)

    Know how you feel!

Hope that you had a good weekend and that your DD did the best that she could.

Could you tell us more about the cupcakes please, what flavour they were and if they were T's own?

    Thanks

I'm sorry I haven't got the exact info, but I think there is a bargain tent around.

I was in the clearance section and a customer asked the SA how much a tent was. The SA took it away, and came back and said it was 75p. The customer bought 2, which left 2 on the shelf. I didn't bother with them, as I am definately not the camping type. :D

I know the SEL didn't say that price, but I'm not sure what it did say. They were in a blue cover, and looked quite small on the shelf. I think it was a 2 man pop-up tent. Maybe something like this one.
