Right I've penned my letter of appeal and emailed it to the council so will wait and see..... I'm so cross because I'm always really careful where I park.
I've got a blue badge and thought I'd parked in the designated disabled spot as I saw the sign and a long line of parked cars. I had to reverse to get into the space and there were at least two parked cars in front of me.
When I got back to the car....only about 15 minutes later I saw the fixed penalty notice. My front wheels were just over the line in a loading area....but at least 75% of my car was in the disabled parking.
If the other cars in front of me (who had gone by the time I got back....probably knew they were illegally parked and spotted the warden!!) hadn't been there, I'd have realised I was partly in a loading only bay, but as it was I didn't. The worse part about it is that I could have driven a 100 yards further down the road and parked it on double yellows, which would have caused far more of an obstruction than 2 wheels in an empty loading bay!
What do you reckon on my chances of being let off??
Its not easy parking even with a blue badge is it. I got a ticket parked on a yellow with no loading stripes on the kerb, didn't know what they were but paid.
Other ticket was on a double yellow with badge I was sent a letter with a photo of my car taken by one of those robot cars. I didn't dispute my car was there but said I was parked legally as there were no signs or kerb markings re no loading, they tried to scare me and said I could appeal but I would have to submit my evidence in advance & attend somewhere in London, I sent my evidence said I would go to the appeal appt but wanted a photo of the signage, I know the area very well they sent me a photo of a lampost on the other side of the road with the sign on. I proved that was the wrong lampost surprise surprise they said they'd let me off this time (flippin cheek I was right) so I didn't need to go anywhere.
Its worth a try querying it, saying its your first time getting a ticket, if it is with that council etc etc0 -

Artha, Everything in the sale is 75% off. If you get there early when they open from my experience theirs usually not many people there as they don't advertise it. It's a great sale and well worth going to and don't forget you can get boots points too;)
LaLa i done the boots sale online last yr and never again always go instore
I did manage to get a ring a roses fifi doll for £3.75 though which made a great gift for my Neice's 2nd birthday in September lol. I hope to fill my pressie cupboard this yr cause i have 2 weddings this yr one of which falls on the 10/11/12 but following that i have my Niece's 16th birthday on the 11/11 and my sisters bday on the 12/11 and DS bday 17/11 think that week i might go into hiding or develop amnesia lol:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Sarcasm

I agree its worth challenging, but you'll need some legal issue to argue with as I wouldnt depend on the goodness of their heart. were you wheels over the edge? Its fine if the car was over as it is the wheels that count? as the OP has said, was it clearly signed as a loading area? I read somewhere that there is a very high level of success with appeals, mainly becuase concils arent well organised enough to provide the necessary evidence and so they get thrown out. Lots of forums about it0 -
Yes i know what you mean about having a clear out its a shame when that happens

And totally O/T DS has to pass a step exam as part of his Cambridge offer and really wants a tutor.Private schools teach step as part of their teaching but his comp doesnt so I said ok lets go for it. How much £51 an hour!!!!!:eek::eek::eek:[/QUOTE]
My son had a scholarship to a big public school and he had special tutoring to pass his Cambridge interview. He did not get in (but went to Durham and got a good degree) so the school refunded the payment we had to make for the special tutoring. Maybe you could negotiate with the tutor that if he does not get in then you could get a refund. Am I right we think the Boots 75% sale is tommorow??0
