The police have told you it's being investigated then it's being investigated. You cannot do anything more at present.0

The police also said that my case was not a priority and that it will be months before they can do anything....so in the meantime the vandals can carry on smashing my house, threaten me and family..lovely!!0 -
The police never want to get involved, but sometimes, they have to. This is a criminal case: try and speak with your local community officer, who should visit. And start proceedings now: I know it can be expensive, but go to court. And as for the lines above claimants: seriously, claimants are your neighbours and your friends and former workmates. The employed/busy are no better.0

Ok, now there are no windows in the house, your daughter can gain access (carefully though, don't want to cut herself).
Hope your tenants have plenty of warm clothing. Without any windows they are going to get very cold. Wait a week before even thinking about fixing the windows. Maybe a dose of hypothermia might help them decide to leave.
Btw, if they have jobs, then you may still be able to drag them through the SCC to get back any missing rent and costs involved in repairing damage. If they refuse to pay, you can go for an attachment of earnings.
When they realise UK LLs are not a push-over, their attitudes may well change.Never Knowingly Understood.

I had to board up the windows MYSELF, police said if i didnt they would get someone to do it and charge me £££££s for it, same for the door had to change the locks because they said if i didnt they would call a locksmith and charge me!
Did they have a right to do this?0 -
Your experience is absolutely appalling.
The police are adding to your problems and not these so called tenants. Why is it in our society that the police can pick on or be totally unhelpful to the victim? You read about useless and pointless police action time and time again. It seems that they are only called to account when the media begin to poke around in the story.
I feel truly sorry for you and your situation. Get some publicity, get it legally sorted, then get out of letting is my advice. You will sleep better and be healthier. There is increasingly too much scum out there, and it is often difficult to distinguish the potentially good people from the bad.0 -

It's your property and therefore your responsibility.
If you don't have appropriate insurance cover remeber that you can set the costs down on your tax form, against rental income0 -
