There may be one just above your head, on the bridge you are currently residing under.
In the case of a toll bridge, the toll is fairly passed on to the passengers via ticketing as the bus company pays the toll for them. In this case however, the charge is levied solely on car drivers and not at all on those using the same service when arriving by bus.0 -

But a bus isn't free? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Now you are just talking jibberish....
I am still waiting for you to prove that there are laws which state prices have to be fair. Since it was your assertion it should not be down to me prove they don't exist! I think you will find it is market forces that dictate prices - google adam smith for a bit of information on this, you may learn something.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
No, you pay a fare for the bus. But that fare does not include the fee a car driver pays as the bus company does not pay this.
So is the whole London congestion charge another example of illegal discrimination as that is only applied to certain vehicles and if you use public transport to reach the centre of London you don't have to pay it?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Here is an airport top tip.
Birmingham airport too has a drop off charge as the drop off area is now closed so people are forced to use the short term parking.
The tip is :
Drop off at Birmingham international train station ..Free short term parking and the connecting shuttle monorail is free to the airport.0 -
Liverpool Airport also do this, but if it's quiet you can quickly stop at the roundabout before the car park. It's a 2 minute walk away but at least there's no extra charge!0

OK, you provide evidence that I am wrong.
All the evidence I need is the fact that Heinz dont charge £500 for beans and M&S don't charge £1,000,000 for a jumper. If they were legally allowed to, they would.
Oh my, some serious lack of thinking going on here!
The reason they don't charge these prices is not because of the law, it's because of supply and demand. Nobody would be able to afford £500 for a tin of beans. Infact some people whine having to pay more than 15p for a tin.But the service provided to bus passengers is the exact same as that provided to those arriving by car. It is discriminatory to charge the car driver for using the same service the bus passenger is using.
Lets not go down the discriminatory route now, otherwise I have a few complaints:
-age discrimination, I can't claim working tax credits because i'm not quite 25.
-discrimination against people with older cars by charging them a higher road tax
-discrimination against the rich with the 50% tax band
-discrimination against able-bodied people in carparks who have to park further away from the doors0 -

perhaps people getting the bus is greener, so no fee to pay.0
