could you check your sent emails to see if you entered the one Matryoshka refers to in post #22?
IRRC a few threads were posted for this site at the end of the year and deleted so you may have entered but can't check

Taking on the role of devil's advocate
A competition winner has been selected, announced and sent their prize.
Your name is unusual and because of this your complaint is the winner has the same name as you?
That is what your complaint appears to be.
I know they claim a very high number of entries but if they were hit by automated systems or featured on "my offers" that might be possible (On a small comp I have seen well over 20,000 entries come in from just one of the automated systems).
If they were not sending out a prize why select a real name and an unusual one?0 -

Hi Glad, that link seems to send me to an online entry form and not a way to enter via email, so I don't think there's a way for me to check whether or not I did enter through that form.
I have checked my sent emails for all entries sent to the juiceproducer address though and the only ones that show up are those from 2010 entries.Huge thank you to all posters on the comps board!

My aim of this thread wasn't really to complain. I just found it a little odd and wanted others advice. I understand there may well be someone out there with the same name as me that'd entered the competition but it would be a bit of a coincidence. Also, If the company isn't playing by the rules and has chosen my name as the winner without sending out a prize, I don't think that's fair (for me or anyone else who may enter a comp of theirs in the future).Huge thank you to all posters on the comps board!

It was an enter through website form and not connected with their facebook page wher they have just postedNicci Jane Cowdell-Murray juiceproducer for your own piece of mind i would sort out your entry chosing method , it has obviously been abused in someway as there is no way that 100,000 real entries have been recieved....there are actual companies who take payments off people and do multiple entry in different names for them ...and emma i would go to http://www.theipm.org.uk/Home.aspx and let them fully investigate , not just for your but also Juiceproducer , afterall if a fake person using poor emmas name has been chosen it should be rectified!Hi Nicci Jane Cowdell-Murray we will check this out in the am, as far as we know you simply need an email address and name, the newletter opt in is optional, no purchase is necessary etc etc, a simple proposition, just an open competition, I think an auto responder verifies your entry / check the email address exists and that is all.0

I was replying to this bit
"Hmm do I still have the right to complain to the IPM"
but by the time I had posted there were several other replies in between.
Fair enough
Although I want to make it clear that I'm not expecting to receive anything from this company. I just wanted to know if they had actually used my name without sending a prize. It all comes down to whether this company is running real competitions or not and if not, I don't think that's right. I think it's unfair for us compers to be entering a competition in the hope of winning If the competition isn't even genuine. Huge thank you to all posters on the comps board!

I will post on here, what I've said on the facebook page

Thanks to everyone who have advised me what to do regarding this. I will contact the ipm tomorrow and leave it to them to investigate, as although I'm not expecting to receive the prize, I'm not happy with my name being used, if of course it is me (which seems likely). And although I've not been completely convinced by your replies juiceproducer, thank you for at least responding. I think we can leave it at that for now. Thanks again to everyone for helping.
I will update this thread if/when there's any news!
Thanks all xHuge thank you to all posters on the comps board!
