Glad to see you are back Brizzled. I too have been away far too long. I am going to try to post every day again. I have found it is all too easy to let standards slip.

Hi Poohbear, I agree. The money spends have gone up since I lost the discipline, but generally not too bad. We also decided that we didn't need a new canoe ( well we do...as 4 of us can no longer fit in a single canoe...Yeah yeah, i know...we have been living in denial!!.. but we will borrow beg and steal one for use during our summer holiday..) so that's £600 which had been set aside that has gone towards the bl@@dy overdraft that's seems to have crept back into my life.

We have also got someone coming to live in from August so hopefully much less stressful around childcare. Although it won't be cheaper it's not far off...and she seems really nice from the joys of Skype. ( whether she can put up wth the Brizzle household though is a different matter but she has been warned!!)

What's else? No income generation plans but we have been keeping groceries under control. Kids understand what we are trying to do but after week 3 with no juice, cereal, yoghurts or biscuits there was a general plea for a bit of a shop...you'll be pleased to know we remained firm!!! We are selling a couple of bits still but we are also decorating so that will be used for paint and a new bathroom blind.

Allotment is beginning to produce gorgeous mange tout , salad and strawberries. Love it..especially as they are pricey things!

What else...laundry gloop is great. mr B....you need to try it...it works!!;-)

    apart from that..over and out...

    Hope you're all ok

So on a rainy day and about 10 mins of a peaceful house before I have to go and get kids...

    1. Need to meal plan again. it's tricky when I am not here and have to delegate to OH but we need to do it.
    2. Still v annoyed with myself re BC and losing my promo rate. So have made a gigantic payment against it and set up a monthly DD.
    3. need to start PADDing again.
    4. Need to budget for the front door and holidays...need to get my planning hat back on.

It will be a tricky few months with OH away and lots of work on. But we're getting a few bits done around the house which is always a boost. They mean spending though...even when it's just paint or wood it still a spend so I have given up on NSDs..:-(

Hope everyone is having a good weekend..

Have you tried phoning BC and grovelling a bit? If it's a first 'offence' sometimes they will reinstate the deal.

    Have a good weekend :)

  • Hey Brizzle, pleased to see you're back. I was away for a little while but got back and into the diaries again. I might just try your washing gloop, as I tried one that was a powder but found it was leaving the powder on the clothes. Liquid might work better!

Shame you've given up on the NSD's but know where you're coming from. At least with the decorating you'll have something to show for it. :D

Hi Brizzle, just been catching up with your diary :). Argh about the BC - did you make a late payment or something? If they won't re-instate it could you transfer the balance to your Virgn one at 0%? They have a permanent rolling 0% for 12 months offer for me it seems, though there is a 3.5% fee so I suppose if you can just pay off the BC £900 quickly that would be best........
