I would love to have chickens but we are overrun with foxes over here and I don't think I could keep the same or stress free.
any news from the Mister?
We are doing our fair share of slug murdering. A sprayer with water and vinegar is our weapon of choice. xxMortgage: £280,752/ £262,515.84

Mister is doing OK..mainly working nights but was purchasing old car parts when he texted last...yes best not to ask!!! We also had a Skype call. He's tired but it was good to even have a 10min call.
I must go down to the allotment and plant some stuff out..yes so the slugs can just eat it. Hardly seems worth it tbh. But will try and do it.
Looking forward to the weekend with DDs. Quite a few things on. Am not back at work until Tues so need to enjoy some quieter time and also catch up on sleep!!
Did do the small things thread today. Did go shopping in morning but bought mainly(!) sensible stuff like envelopes, glue, vinegar..oh the life I lead!!!! Also did treat Dd2 to churros and a coffee for me..
DD2 made fairy cakes ( quite a trauma as I was multi tasking and she is dyslexic and was following a recipe for the first time...but she put loads of effort in) and I then burnt them when I was on Skype call :-(MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Hi Brizzle
just having a catch up good to see you back. You sound busy as ever! I'm in awe of you being able to juggle such long working hours with childcare. The thought of it petrifies me and i wouldn't know where to start!
Hope you have a good weekend

Maybe you should keep chickens? They eat all the scraps ( apart from chicken and egg of course!) in our house? They are fun too. Would give Bear something to watch ( but not touch:rotfl:)
Shattered today....really exhausted. Need to get a shimmy on.... But CBA..:(
What are you up to, fellow slug killer??
Brizzle
I don't have many scraps these days, I'm so into planning my shopping and meals and then finding inventive ways of using up leftovers that there wouldn't be enough for the chickens.
I certainly wouldn't trust the Bear near chickens. A chicken was one of the first presents he ever brought home :eek:Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Mrs B, I am so glad that you managed the Skype call with OH . I am assuming he is abroad away, not UK away at the moment. I hate it when Mr P wants a Skype call with the camera on so he can see us all when we talk. I am happy to chat on the Skype phone but if he wants to see us, I feel the need to make everyone one run a brush through their hair and I rush off to put a bit of make up on so he doesnt think hes married to a complete wreck while he is away !!
That must have made you feel betterthoguh speaking to him.
Glad you got over your childcare work situation last week, total nightmare. I have a week like that coming up as of Monday, and am having a mini panic. Outlaws not speaking to us, and arent local anyway , my parents not too healthy so dont liek askign them to do too much, so I may need to rope in some friends for help. Best I get a plan in action really !
Glad DD2's cake making went well, maybe she will get a chance over the weekend to try again without mummy burning them !!I do that all the time, poor DD2 makes them, I pop them in the oven, then wander into the office, start working and burn the lot !!
Hope your busy weekend goes well xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Hi,
It's good to see you. Sounds as though you need to have a rest as you have been rather busy.
I hope the slugs stay away from your plants. With all this rain they will probably grow quickly.
Have a good week-end.

Hello peeps!!
Nail biting afternoon watching Andy M play out of his skin against the genius Federer.... What an amazing match
MSE stuff...well..did spend some money today in the LA sale...but have been waiting to try and finish off our front room for over a year..so hardly an impulse decision..think it was the right thing to do.
Girls had long chat on skype with OH just now..they love FaceTime on the ip&d.
Planted out some cucumbers...and mowed the lawn. Have decided to plant out some more stuff nearer the house so can keep an eye on it...and kill any slugs. Allotment too far away!
Hope all are having a good day and hopefully enjoying some sun..
