  • I'm not sure I could do the one tea bag for two cups of tea as NZ tea bags are pretty weak to begin with. You have to leave them in the cup for a while to make the tea strong enough! But you can definitely get away with half a dishwasher tablet... you can even use baking soda and white vinegar as a rinse aid.

I am now looking at an exploded dishwasher tablet. When I tried to cut it half as per all the suggestions, some hit the sink, some hit the floor and the rest went all over the kitchen sides

What did I do wrong? How should I cut a tablet in half? Answers on a postcard please!

:rotfl: Hmmm no idea really . How about trying to cut it in half still in the wrapper then maybe the pieces will stay intact and not fly across the floor. Personally I think you should just count yourself lucky that you even have a dishwasher unlike poor old (very jealous) Mrs Pinot !!!

I have been known to substitute a dishwasher tablet for washing up liquid in desperation as I am sure many of us have ( or is it just me ?! :o ) , although the bubbles that engulfed the kitchen ensured that I never did that again ! x:eek:

I've done that! Suds everywhere  I didn't learn from the experience as a few months later I tried washing up liquid in the washing machine...

I will try cutting it up under a tea-towel and see what happens.

Although I have no dishwasher , I do have tablets, maybe I will go and have a practise, sure beats the paperwork I am supposed to be doing today ! x

Cling film's a good idea, I'll try that. I will write a report for you.

Not tried washing up liquid in the washing machine? You haven't lived:D It was one of those moments, no washing powder, smelly riding gear...seemed like a good idea at the time:eek:

I'm trying to remove a virus from my computer, running the checker again. I may have to go onto the techie board. I've done it before and got out alive! They're everso helpful, but difficult to understand!

    Oh my ,
Techie People and I dont mix. I wish they would speak plain English. Mr Pinot can be every so slightly techie and I must confess to zoning out a lot of the time and just nodding in what I hope are the right places. I hope you get it sorted though.

I will wait with baited breath for your dishwasher tablet report later !! :D

I did the same trying to cut a dishwasher tab in half - mess everywhere - not really worth it.
Looking forward to the results of your investigation. :)

It is my planned evening's entertainment, after dinner the great divide of the dishwasher tablet.

Lucielle I don't have a big chopper, just ordinary kitchen knives :D
