Thanks PLMBL.. she was as lovely as she is on here :) Didn't stop gassing for about 3 hours :D

Now... when am I heading NE for that long awaited big night out??! ;)? Reckon a MSE RL party is just what's needed.. especially at the moment (it sure ain't Florida is it??!) when the weather is so shocking. It feels like October out there.

Well dear friends I took Ig's advice and phoned Barclaycard who I am pretty sure took over Egg (remember them?!) and asked for an investigation into the many cards I had with them. And then did another 16 (!!) letters on behalf of me and OH (he was really taken aback to see how many loans etc we had over the last couple of decades.. and these are the ones I can remember as I threw away all the paperwork as it's mostly 6 years plus old)... I only had 6 stamps but they have been posted. The other 10  will be posted tomorrow

So fingers crossed we get something. Don't hold out any real hope as I always thought I ticked no. But you never know.

TT done. Had a lovely day. My girls are back home. Alls right very right in my world :D

Have a great weekend everyone x

Have just read up on the Plevin case - interesting! Nrither OH nor myself have had PPI of any description (except one co added it to one card when I took it out (missed the opt out box) - but I cancelled it the next month - and I'm not going to bother for one month's fee!) - can say that with certainty as we were both bank staff 'back in the day' (and sold PPI!) and most of our products were staff products (which were outside the usual products to the public available back then) which didn't have PPI as an option anyway (non standard loans and staff markers on CCs) It does make me cross when I have obvious youngsters phone me about PPI and they patronisingly try and tell me that I 'probably didn't even realise I signed up for it' as I 'didn't know what it was' - I did - 'cos I occasionally sold it (and witnessed some obvious mis-sellings of the stuff at times)

Glad MSE meet went well :) I have never met a MSE-er in real life - have facebooked with some, phone-chatted with a couple of others :)

    Have a lovely weekend :)

I hope you have some PPI coming back to you. I thought I always ticked 'no' too, but have received a lot over the last ten years. TSB were the worst/best. Worst in that we had no idea we paid PPI and the best in the huge payout we received from them.

Your house full of teenagers sounds wonderful. I miss those days...
business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Thanks ladies. I am not holding out much hope but you never know. All posted now. And fresh from thinking about PPI am now having a look at mortgage deals. Thought that as trying to pay off in 5 years not worth it, but reckon it might be as low LTV and now have several years accounts under my belt.

Went frugal and made pancakes at home for the crew, much cheaper. Looking forward to checking out our street art festival later .. #lovebristol!! :D

Hope you enjoyed the meet up, how lovely. Can I just ask, did you have to phone BC re egg? Or could you just send a letter, that's the one I think we may have had PPI with.

Weekend sounds lovely, well done on food spends. Pancakes are one of my favourite things in the world :D

    Plans for today:

    - Work from home. Loads to do and need to get my head down in peace and quiet.
    - Make chicken and prawn (not together, separately!) fajitas. A crowd pleaser and dead quick to do as want to do a class this evening
    - defrost braising steak for a SC stew tomorrow
    - get DD1 to talk to her bank (yet again) re a paying in book so she can pay in cheques and then pay me back!! They have sent her the wrong thing twice now... grr
    - eat healthily...so am ignoring the two cups of tea and white bread toast and marmalade I have had today then!!
    - try for a NSD and a do a TT

Darn , just realised I have missed completing a PC survey as didn't have Flash. May try again later this evening to see if its open

    Have a good day

Marmalade is made from oranges. A fruit and therefore healthy.

This was HM stuff MM and you see how much sugar my dad chucks in it!! :rotfl:

It did get better, I managed a class. But it wasn't an NSD as I took my kids out to lunch. They were feeling a bit low (for different reasons) and I wanted to take advantage of being around. I then bought more chicken for a cheap and easy meal of fajitas which DD1 made. We were also very frugalista and renewed our membership of the library. Haven't been in years so we have a few books to read over the holidays now. DDs were busy decluttering and sorting my receipts. Result :) Some clothes for CS but also some may sell. Going to have a real go at EBay this month.

Loads of washing went through too - sunny weather makes a difference.

Off for another day earning a crust. Will sort the new month and feedback on last later this week. All monthly payments e.g. Mortgage safely out as have checked already :)
