Is she with an internet bank only as I have paid in cheques without a paying in book. this is with a high street bank.
I just went in with the sort code and account number written on a slip of paper, another time I just showed them my debit card.0 -
That's helpful EE. No it's Halifax. You're right, I will send her into town to sort it later this week and ask them o help her get a paying in book at the same time.
She just owes me the money on the cheques! Hence why I need it in her account.
Hope you're having a good week

Thanks EE - job done. Good advice. She's learnt a lesson too and the bank staff said that often they don't issue paying in books anymore.
. How does one use the Post Office service then I wonder? So DD1 said why didn't they say that in the phone when I called telephone banking.. v good question!!
Done loads of cycling. Steps off the scale. Diet a bit mixed - 2 chocolate cookies and a bag of crisps :rotfl:MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Good day. Coming home to have pizza with dear friends in our garden (well if it doesn't rain!) It was going to be HM but I am not going to pop to the Co-op. Not as MSE but I will be getting 5% off as a loyal member.
Have listed more items on the Bay and there has been a big clear out which I need to sort through. Should be some more stuff to sell.
BC have acknowledged my ' claim'. So who knows.. Mortgage quote looks interesting. TT and 12k steps so far as well as cycling. It probably won't be an AFD tho! Stretch too far and all that :rotfl:
Have a good evening folks

Good luck with the sales. Hope you get a nice windfall from the claim!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Good luck with the ebaying Mrs B, that's on my agenda this month also.
Someone needs to explain to me why we are hoarding toys still when I have a nearly 20 year old and a nearly 17 year old. I know they are a tad sentimental but this is getting silly now :rotfl:I am determined to get the lot up for sale asap !
Hope you enjoyed lunch with your girls the other day and they are feeling better and that the rain held off for your Pizza night yesterday. It was horrendous here all day , the rain just didn't stop.

Much much better weather this evening
Mainly work and admin so far today but dear dear friend is staying this weekend which is great. After work was gathering paperwork together for the mortgage app, did a hefty TT and tidied the study which was a pigging mess!!
Dinner was sausages from the freezer. Laundry loads done. In the end a productive day.
More this weekend.. need to sort sig and analyse July. On the to do listMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Thanks pooh. You too.
I have updated my signature. Successes last month were AFDs (19) and getting close on NSDs (3/5). But the decluttering was poor (2/100!!) and the LSDs seemed to have tailed off.
My savings goal was within reach last month ( we actually reached 23.9% when I had targeted an ambitious 33%) and we could have made it if we had been less inclined to go out for dinner and activities as we had students staying. DD1 also had some hefty transport expenses for a hobby. There were also birthdays in May/ June/July and some spends on girls' clothes (some were essential like replacement outdoor gear, some less so) for the girls.
Groceries spend was good though for us, (especially considering the amount the extra folks ate, our organic tendencies and general love of large quantities of good food), at £600 and I have rediscovered Lidl so will try and use that more often. Its a car journey away, but for some items is probably worth it.
Finally, having to pay a tax bill largely wiped out any meaningful progress. But at least it was there in the savings account to be transferred across to THEM.
I am going to keep the savings goal for August at 25% so that one, this money can be used to build up an EF, pay off the last CC (yay!!) and two, I need to build up a fund for the larger tax bill this December. I do not want to be going on holiday worrying about that one...for sure. 25% seems doable as long as we are fairly resilient in resisting spends. This was also a month where I resisted taking more money out of the company (I am SE) to bolster our domestic expenses and so our total monthly income was less. I plan to keep it at that lower level until the end of the year and then review. I will have to be strong as its too easy to take it out sometimes.Remind me of that from time to time dear readers!!
Also progress on the mortgage application which if it comes off will reduce our outgoings somewhat and I can then put that into a regular OP as am still gunning for a complete wipeout of that by mid 2022. Some letters back saying we didn't have PPI, but one indicates we may have done. They are looking into it but its worded in such a way as to make it a possibility. So will keep that one in play and see whether there is any more correspondence from the other 10+ (!!) this week. Quite exciting really!!
Now off to see family. Looking forward to it and hoping that the weather holds for a pleasant walk too

Hope you've had a lovely weekend Brizzle seriously good savings, despite being below target and food shop. You know I struggle there too
How's the exercise going? Managed a short run today, which was lame but better than being on the sofa. Hoping for another on Tuesday.
Made g&t cupcakes as a test for a g&t cake I'm making for a wedding  this weekend. It's obviously not THE cake but I still feel a bit under pressure. Can definitely recommend though. Dead easy and very yummy0
