Wow a lot of money to charity! Puts my £5 a month to Civil Servant Benevolent Fund plus random sponsorships and coins in collecting boxes to shame. However, I have recently put my name forward to volunteer with a local charity that work supports, helping reformed alcoholics/drugs addicts find work - so I will be giving time.
Well done on the savings front too!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
D'you know...time is incredibly important SA..and currently I dont donate time..but money. Feels like a cop out, given my health and luck. Having said that I am talking to a charitable group about volunteering to help them plan their future direction/strategy, so there will be time involved in that. I used to do a similar volunteer role a few years ago, so should know what I am letting myself in for? Well done SA on helping in such a practical way :T
You have all said such lovely things...thank you :blushing: but its all proportionate and we do have a healthy family household income so only right we should give more. No special praise required...its how it should be. (and our income over the years has made the Brizzle debt all the more silly...but you all know about thatMy title of my diary says how different my financial life could (should?) have been!!)
Just done a grocery shop which had things for my mum (recovering from a hip op) and some ready mealsOH is away next week, I have a full on week with very late evenings planned so have sorted something the kids can definitely manage without repeated calls to me at work..
asking me what to do next..(read the recipe is usually the reply back). But it was pricey. So need to manage next week's food properly. My darling OH has also made 3 lasagnes and a stack of meat balls for the freezer. Much appreciated.
Sun just starting to creep out now...is it just me or is this winter seeming especially dark and dreary? I am not usually one praying for the Spring, but seems that way this year. Getting another load of wood delivered next week (hopefully!) - I need to know we can stretch into summer without stress. We have used up all the offcuts.
Haven't done the diaries recently - so sorry all, but thinking of you all lots and hope to find time for a proper catch up in a few days.MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Yep I donate my time, more than cash I'm afraid. I volunteer with one charity and shop and donate items to another. I will donate cash ,but not on a regular basis to one animal charity but do put pet goodies in their collecting boxes at supermarket every week - use to alternate with something for food bank but have stopped that now - and I donate to one TV campaign charity - the red one
and These are the ONLY charities I donate to. I think charitable donation in whatever form is certainly a personal thing. If I had plenty of extra cash I would give more, certainly but it git tona point in my life when rhere seemed to be a constant demand for moneywhich is why I made the decision to stick to the charities I chose to support in the manner I could.
Air ambulance us such an important charity Brizz, certainly round here too.Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

I always think I should support the Red Cross more as they were brilliant fitting all the rails and mobility AIDS for Mr SA free of charge. Going to make an effort to give another £5 to charity every month, maybe pick a different one each month. Ooh Brizzle your generosity is wearing off onto meI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Good stuff SA, and Ig and Lou....how do you find the time?? Amazing. Total respect (wish there was a emoji for a bow!)
Off out and about today. Will be some spends, but will try and keep them to a minimum and being treated to a late Sunday lunch by friends so that's lovely. Got £20 from taking part in a panel discussion yesterday. In vouchers I can pretty much use anywhere which is great.
OH having some wobbles re cash...can't see us making it through and getting the debt down (mortgage too) as aggressively as I think we could. He's under stress at work which never helps, but think over next few weeks I really need to try hard and show him it can be done without living a joyless life. In fact quite the opposite. I may put him on the FW UFM challenge and see how he reacts? Hmm...
Have a great day all
