Chicken pie was good and I even have some for my packed lunch today. See kids! -adding rye flour to the pastry is not so bad ;) The girls helped me cook (they ere v dubious about the rye!:rotfl: which was a big relief. I also realise I didn't eat properly yesterday until early eve which is probably why I was so tired ;)

Today I haven't cycled to work - coming back late so really couldn't face it and in two locations etc. Not very frugal, but bringing in my lunch etc is. Shouldn't spend a thing.
Train ticket up by 20p. Feel I have got off lightly.

Need to sort a nice but easy to prepare menu for friends on Sunday. Nigella's Beef stew? Keen to do something which is delicious but can be largely prepared in advance.. any ideas gratefully welcomed! Two of the kids don't eat lamb and pork is off the menu too.

Hope you're having a great day

Grr.. TCB is saying 22 weeks before I get a substantial cash back...it was late September when it was processed...thats a very long time isn't it?

    Today:

    - need to juggle meal plan
    - meal plan for weekend
    - start the big declutter
    - see if dishwasher has behaved itself
    - see a friend for coffee (but reclaimable)
    - stick to budget and have another AFD

That does seem a long time. But it maybe depends on what you bought. Certain things like insurance policies probably wait to check you don't cancel. I arranged car insurance the other day and that says 13 weeks.
    0% card was £1126.91 / Now £1502.37

    AFD March 2/15 NSD March 2/11 :T

Other debts paid since 1/1/14: £17,005

Hi MFM, yes I thought the same and so was expecting a couple of months, but having to wait until March for the benefits of a policy taken out in September seems a bit ridiculous.

One of our policies is coming to an end next month so think I need to renew, will try TCB again I guess and hope for quicker things!

Well a little late, but I'm trying to catch up... you sounds super organised as ever. Frugal, now that's what I was hoping for but missing the point :o .... went to a lovely butchers yesterday... spent £23 on meat we didn't need!! but I'm sure the rack of lamb will go down a treat for Sunday lunch ( yes we still do a roast )

I had 2 bottles of beer last night to break my AFDS. think when my OH off tomorrow that will happens again (and some ;) )

Dearest MFD...great to hear from you...I also went to the butchers yesterday and got lamb shoulder for kleftiko...am planning to pretend we are heading for Greece :D AND so I can bung it in oven and forget about it.. will do with roasties and some green veg (and a Greek salad :))

Wine again this eve...will be going to a friend's big birthday..but planning on staying for couple of hours only and have chipped in for her present with other friends so result.

    Other good things:

    - walked to shops for some sports gear they desperately needed with kids and had a good laugh and family time
    - cleaned out chickens to say thank you for all the eggs :) even now, bless them, in the depths of winter
    - PC survey points redeemed to PayPal
    - DD1 delighted by spending their money on sale items (I didnt spend anything :)) - in fact haven't bought any clothes since September (£25 in M&S so tights and essentials) - my goal was not to spend until Feb and apart from a winter ski coat have held to that and am thinking of stretching it to April to see how I go)
    - booked DDs onto a skirt making day (it was a Christmas present) - so they are equally nervous and looking forward to it at the same time. Keen they learn some skills and they come home with an outfit so thats good.
    - apart from the meat, (which yet again my butcher gave me at a reduced price bless him) bought all my veggies and fruit for the week and for entertaining tomorrow for £20...my local greengrocer is a gem

I know this was yesterday but wanted to say the same happened to me but with the Q cashback site.

I took out insurance at the end of Aug and I am sure it said 13 weeks for cashback but when I got the email to say it had tracked my target payout is March!!!

It is really annoying as I need to clear an interest bearing credit card.
