Thanks guys, lovely to have you popping by...just coming on here after another late shift

It is good to have a smaller tax bill. It was so stressful worrying about what it might be that I did get quite low about it.

Busy weekend with Xmas prep, some DIY jobs to do too...but am planning to delegate most of those to OH! :)

Going to get some sleep now...need to seriously recuperate...getting yet another cold ...I am never usually ill so for this to be going into week 3 is not welcome at all! so some vitamins, hot chocolate and sleep is what is calling me now..

Absolutely dreading our tax bill but I have been organised and put money aside for it. Not to be touched on pain of death! I'll know more in January.

Have you tried taking Echinacea for colds? I find it really helps me.

Sadly still under the weather, but thanks for asking. Achy and blocked nose. Sometimes have a headache but luckily not at the moment. Also in agony from a strained intercostal muscle from coughing too much :(
Think it's another cold, backended into the last one, feel very prone at the moment.. suspect I am burning the candle at both ends, commute is very wearisome and need to start getting more sleep in 2017.. maybe that should be a NY resolution :rotfl: I am not usually like this and am not liking it at all.

Today will be busy getting the house sorted and packed for going away. A few more left field chores to do...get cracked screens repaired anyone..... kids will be paying part of the cost of the repairs...£20 each is their fine...

Other main job today is wrapping. Luckily the parcels we needed to post all went off yesterday. Phew.

Hope everyone has a great Xmas and New Year

    Hey Brizzle,

Well, somehow, I managed to read all your diary . What a great read and you've achieved so much. I did think the last few pages were different though, in tone - maybe having to take out the new debt, or worries over income? I hope you're doing ok (and over the miserable cold). You'll get that pesky tax under control and have it all sorted. All your decluttering, selling, lodgers, van hire etc. So many positive steps. I am in awe :T

Will try to pop in more regularly now that I have finally caught up with the journey to this point.

Hi MFM!!! wow!! That's some journey. I am honoured you made the time to read it all - thank you.

Yes I agree - I am cheesed off that I am back in debt due to not being careful enough about the tax bill and well, let's be honest, spending too much even when my income went PT. Feels like a school girl error of some magnitude!! BUT BUT having said that there is a clear way ahead now and I feel I can look ahead to a frugal but very happy few years :) and the mortgage being almost done and dusted will be a huge milestone - humungous in fact as monthly payment wise it's a whopper.

Reatarting having a lodger is a huge help - and that should continue for a bit., I will be working more next year it seems and OH is having to do extra days which all helps.

With the tax affairs now sorted feel it's onwards and upwards - long may it continue!

    Xx
