Its easily done Lou..I reckon really I am a child of WW2 with my stockpiles ... ;)

    Today we have:

    - reconciled YNAB (can you tell OH is back!)
    - done the VAT return
    - small TT made
    - using freezer up slowly but surely- curries this eve and rice from the rice cooker (the multi purpose slow cooker has been amazing..we steamed chocolate puddings in it yesterday. They were lush)
    - listed some items on Ebay. Photos pretty rubbish but hope for some sales.
    - just back from work - so very early for me - will change, have a snack and crack on whilst I have my work mojo back :)

Thanks for popping by, MfD. Yes change is possible but he really doesn't want it, and doesn't want to embrace it. So...I think its a question of him reflecting and working through the options rationally. He has agreed to go through the pros and cons with me and the girls (each giving our own views, independently on paper) for him to take into account. Clearly he has the deciding vote (as it were) but as least he can then be exposed to less binary views ;) He can be a bit of an ostrich, lets put it like that, and I don't want him making such a big decision based on fear (especially when I think its unjustified and even if its wasn't we could financially cope)

Bit of a stream of consciousness but this is the best place to unload (thanks for humouring me :D)

WAH today which saves me a colossal 4 hours  commuting..which also means I have pegged out in a weak autumnal sun..especially as the house was already full of damp washing on racks it feels like a proper bonus!

I do hope Mr brizzle works out the best decision for himself - he certainly has some great support at home.

Would love to work from home (she says wistfully). :(

Hope OH comes to the right decision. Work is such a big part of most people's lives you need to be happy there.

Thanks guys. Have been thinking of you all, but just lurking in the threads, (and starting re-reading Tilly's diary from the start...it's a whopper :D) and enjoying not being flat out at work..don't go back until Monday so a week with my kids :)

MSE life pootles on. Some watchers on the Bay of E items but not a great deal. Poor photos not helping I am sure, so probably need to change that pronto. Need to meal plan for next week.

In- laws coming over for Sunday dinner. Most items already bought...just a few veggies and will probably do a steamed pudding for afterwards. Using the SC for them has been a revelation :)

Money is fairly manageable..we are not overspending..but then there have not been any unexpected items...and we have Christmas coming. So..not complacent about that at all.

Will get myself another cuppa, then cruise diaries, then get up and shake a tail feather :)

Have a great day folks. Grey to start with here, but OH already out on bike with some mates, so he'll come home happy :)

    Brizzle

PS. Thanks for comments re OH. Think he will try and and go for VR...but we have had a discussion with the kids, family meeting ;), re pros and cons. I think he's moving towards trying to get out, but am also thinking he may baulk when it comes to it...so still unknown/uncertain.

Just caught up on this month's posts - you have been busy and lots going on in Brizzle's world!

OH and myself have both taken VR in the past - scary decisions but - for us - it worked out for the best - eventually!

Scary , but happiness and less stress is priceless when it's affecting so much. We all know how to cut our cloth ;)

Thanks lovely MfD...we will be OK. Public sector..it's a never ending cycle of cut backs (as I suspect you know ;)) ..and maybe it's time for a change.

OH now redoing some photos so fingers crossed.

Meal planning next..so rock and roll :)
