Thanks beanie. They are very good to us here. Must give the staff the appropriate praise on Trip Adviser.

OH in gym :) so I have read papers, drunk all the free coffee I can and now on here.

Have updated sig..which pains me. But I need to be honest (especially with you lovely folks!:)) and so have put in the amount as borrowed for the bill to THEM. Still not sure what it'll be, but have sent a message to the accountant saying I need an appointment so we can get a forecast and I can either sweat or breathe.

Great to have some uninterrupted conversations with OH over last 24hrs. One of them was about what we have spent money on recently even as income has dipped. They include:

    - new TV and XBox...latter partly for our new lodger
    - new bed, mattress and bedding for lodger
    - holiday in the sun
    - replanting of garden after chooks and weather trashed it
    - money for DD1 for prom, after exam results, new bike and money for clothes
    - DD2 classes and trips and tutoring (mainly in a subject she loves, a language which they no longer offer at school)
    - micro finance loan to a charity

And we had stopped having a lodger and both working full time.

And that's just a selection I am sure...

So..most of those I wouldn't change, but the ramifications are clear to see. And we need to budget even more carefully and/or earn more income. Clearly we are now starting on redressing the latter one..with OH's extra days and the hosting, but we need to keep on it. The MF date of 2021 seems unobtainable so I may start to look at how far we need to push that out, without completely losing the idea of beingMF ASAP which I love.

Will try and update against my targets every Friday.

    Laters folks xx

And in some good news, a large item went for £299 and no fees to pay so all upside. Customer very happy and so are we. I will update my sig as we have smashed our target. Not sure anything else will go - if it doesn't we can just declutter it..to try and hit another September target :)

Going to friends for dinner shortly..very sociable weekend :D so taking wine and eggs from the chooks which always get a warm welcome. We have loads so will also give some to other friends who are hosting us tomorrow..

Have also used TCB to book a train..yes folks I am braving a bus connection...let's see how it goes. We have also used TCB to take out a life insurance policy for the girls to share if anything goes pop for one of us in the next 20 years or so..makes the drafting of our wills easier, which will be confirmed next week. We should also get a £75 voucher so that can go towards Xmas costs. All good admin stuff to have completed even if it means bills to pay - and we got mates rates for the wills :D

We have also reconciled YNAB (OH) and girls had LO's for tea. I on the other hand had crisps and dips as a snack :D :rotfl:

:D Well better than nowt :)

It basically so that we can continue as joint tenants..and he can move his GF in ;) (or vice versa of course! ;)) ..so seemed better to give them cash rather than a share in a house that the survivor may not be able to/wish to sell...advice was its a lot cleaner.

Best get a shimmy on..not going far but still in jeans cruising diaries :rotfl:

I wish I knew SA..I wish I knew...think it's cos I am always trying to make huge inroads into the CC debt and also to build up the savings. And then have to row back when we overspend on groceries etc. Need to remember it's a marathon not a race and kids are expensive.. :p

Just redeemed £6 from PC surveys. Should have been more but was screened out of one recently. Doesn't happen often but annoying all the same.

    Thanks DIA

I have also done some admin work on mortgage goals...I hereby give notice I am formally shifting our MF date out to 2022 (from 2021) and will change my sig accordingly. I will inform OH in a moment ;):D

This will mean that we can try and do some nice things with the kids and our extended family who live overseas over the next few years (a NZ wedding comes to mind for example) but that we will make OPs of £500 pm, starting from next month. Back in the day before I took on the debt again it was nearer £1k which just doesn't seem feasible now. I am going to set up the SO now before I can change my mind. I wont just do payments as and when but make it formal with a SO. It'll mean that we have to be cautious with all our other spends as we are paying down the CC debt as well for my upcoming tax bill, but I think its important to try and kick on with as much as possible.

We don't plan to move or extend the house...we already have plenty of space we think and we'd have even more if we decluttered:o. I have just decluttered some jewellery (some I have had since school :)) so another 18 items for the CS/thrown where it was broken/not a full set (I am the queen of losing a single earring ) so the target for this month is definitely within reach :)
