Completely with you on previous over spending traits. We are definitely all happier now that we consider what and how we spend.
Good luck with road trip - 'may all motorways and A roads be clear'
Looking forward to catching up.

Oh yes. Those old spending habits we used to have. New car - why not? Two expensive holidays a year - sure. Dinner out in the pub because I can't be bothered to cook - yes indeedy. Makes me cringe thinking of it now! We have some good memories from those days but they aren't any better than the ones where we take a picnic and walk up a hill to look at a view. It really is true that money doesn't buy happiness.
Good traffic vibes to you all.

Oh yes, remember those traits/days:eek: we were classic DINKies (dual incomes no kids to those too young to know!) and didn't know the meaning of "save".....

Thanks for popping by folks. Hope the chicken was yummy Igamogam. Spot on about those memories MM. NOA - maybe it was having the kids that started the spending
..nothing like sleep deprivation to send the logic out of the window, never to be seen again..
Good day so far. Been to town. More of a novelty now so more fun. In MSE news:
- dormant bond account of DD1 - she has decided to cash it in and invest it in her S&S JISA. Will be a bore to transfer but think she's making the right decision. I will of course have to do the paperwork...:(
- PC survey done. £9 to transfer across now. Will send across as an OP.
- TT. trying to do them most days now.
Would have been a NSD but OH is out and he will be spending a little.
Still off the pop most of the time. Must be helping the finances too. Certainly nothing in the YNAB budget for alcohol until April is focussing the mind somewhat
Think thats it.
Will try and pop into some diaries laterTilly - looking forward to catching up also

Chicken whatnot hit the spot
I added minced garlic and ginger instead of the mint sauce. Worked a treat and will now be added to the repertoire

I think you are right Brizzle, it started on day on day 1 obviously because there was a plus one, then two months later 6K day nursery fees (and it only ever crept upwards for evermore). We even learnt the definition of " save" and CB was put aside and never touched, until many years later, for a SE tax bill
Might give that SC chicken a go too- do something similar-ish in oven but not tried it in SC, which I have neglected somewhat for last few months. Need to teach DS a few more recipes!
Have a lovely w/e

Hi brizzled, I went to that supermarket this morning. Unfortunately I had a grumpy 15yr old in tow so didn't buy anything. But I would like to go back with DH. However, I did find another s/market on my way to the blue shop and managed to get some kefir. Yay!0

Good stuff dangers. Has to look that up mind
Looks yummy.
Good day today and whilst traffic still grim (M25 is truly the road to hell ain't it) all good and the coffee sandwiches and snacks are keeping us chipper. Did another PC survey and have managed to offload another 20 books. Must update sig.
Eating in at friends house to make it more MSE so taking down some bits but much cheaper than all of us going out :j Likely to do cheap activities too eg. Walking and swimming. Good job too as we are at the top of our budget for Feb and we have a week to go! Will be a tight week. No mega spends at all - just loads of OPsso can cope with the tension
