A good day..ending with sitting in the garden sharing a bottle of Al.i wine..
Got my swimming costume and a bikini. Very pleased. Felt strange and novel to be mooching around town spending money!
Had a BBQ this eve..did buy some burgers...but that's it. Rest from freezer and stores.
OH also booked all of us into a hotel in London for a night in October. Feels very decadent, but didn't actually cost a thing as covered by airmail miles which were about to expire. Very pleased...will be a great treat during the Term Break hols.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend x
PS looking at the to do list..allotment and book buying still need to be done!MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Hmm...allotment still not attended to and books definitely not purchased!
But...had lovely day in a city not far from here, checking out a job opportunity. Lovely day and kids and OH came too and had a lovely time. They saw a film but apart from that no spends, bought a picnic and used up C@sta points for free drinks.
Had a lovely tortilla tea today, cooked by our foreign student. Really sweet of him. Loads of laundry done, dried and put away. Bread in the BM ready for packed lunches tomorrow. Icecream made from foraged blackberries, some gooseberries from the last allotment visit  and some on the turn strawberries! Use Ups tomorrow for tea, probably pasta.
Beginning to think about holidays now. But before that need to work, and issue invoices..plenty to do!
Hope everyone is OK

Blurgh..feels like a non day today..couldn't get up this morning and that set the scene for the rest of the day
To be honest, I think its largely caused by the fact that I had some bad news about a good friend and her health, and I have some money to pay off on the CC. Whilst its 0% and was for the car, so necessary, its stressing me. Whilst I try and remember its all about starting up and about cash flow and it will be paid off in August/September.. I still f=ipping hate it!
Kids are also moaning about packing..and DD2 has lost her phone..so the whinging today may have also made me feel more low than usual!
So I was working today so another day and another dollar but..
- have bought YNAB so the trial doesn't end whilst I am on hols, using a debtcamel vouchercode so 'only' £29.17 (thanks Caz)
- took excess clothes, and DD2's primary school uniform to the CS
- put kids Cr8cs and some spare kitchen items out on the wall for casual passers by to take if they wished.. (they have all gone!)
- checked H@lif@x CC for holidays works (ie. I knew the PIN) - spent on groceries so all essential spends
- packed and HM lunches today for everyone from fridge
- £25 income from a referral fee when taking out a necessary company insurance policy (and my friend gets £25 too)
- paid in overseas student B&B cheque..so another £344 to the goodwell worth it, he's been a sweetie
- OH making carbonara for tea.. have defrosted bacon and cream is left over from ice cream making at weekend . Yum. Can't wait to be cooked for again
So, hoping to pick up speed and get cooking on gas this evening..

Thanks PWPS
Not sure I deserve that compliment at the moment but I'lls take it!!!
So today felt much better, despite spending much of it being pampered and having hair done..blimey at my age it seems a full time occupation :rotfl:
- £4.46 on panels..a good day
- HM icecreams, including blackberry. The haul has been amazing, not sure I have seen this many, this sweet and large for years..
- spinach, a very few gooseberries and broad beans from the allotment ( and yet more blackberries!)
- free CL solutions from the lovely optician...the small kindnesses of independent shops around here still warms the cockles of my heart
- Herman starters doing well and the ciabatta starter, started in BM
- gorgeous lovely meal of jacket potatoes with loads of great toppings, including a lovely salad made by OH which featured avocado, mango and quinoa..well lush and very cheap
- And....TA DAH... The best bit is for last. The lovely MooLoo made me a thermal cooking bag ( yes OK. I should have made it but as lacking in time or a sewing machine..and all that..) SO taking on holiday and looking forward to all the blessings of a slow cooker without the need for electric!! Am SO ridiculously excited.....( altho it is huge.... as Mooloo said, it's a huge marshmallow!! OH's eyebrows are raised!) Not sure he is ( as yet) as convinced as I am.
2 sleeps before the hols...:j:j
On a completely non MSE point, I can't believe the Eastbourne pier is completely destroyed.. Big feature of my childhoodMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

hello Brizzled, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday. You deserve it.
I haven't made a thermal cooking bag yet BUT I have been known to wrap a nice pan or casserole dish in lots of towels to 'cook' especially when I have a cheap cut of meat. It works just the same. Very MSEbusiness mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Yes, seems to work just as well from what folks say. But with your sewing skills think you could make a lovely feature thermal bag for your kitchen

Hi folks
We is back!! Had a marvellous holiday...wonderful. Refreshing, everyone had a great time and although think lurching back into work will be challenging...everyone seems positive, including DD2 who starts big big school next week
Need to touch base with work but then will be back at some stage over next day or 2. Kept YNAB up during our holiday so very good to know what we spent down to the last cent.
Hope everyone is really really well. Not sure about this weather though...bit chilly. Had the fire on for last 2 evenings...not very August like at all!
Hugs to all, I've missed you, but was too tight (MSE?!) to pay for data on my phone so I could check in!:)
