    edit: IT'S SNOWING AND STICKING NOW :j :j :j
  • Belated birthday wishes Topher,

We finally have snow (nr. Birmingham) and the school I work in is closed!!! Hooray!!! Only trouble is I've sent DH off with the car and I haven't heard if DD1's High school is closed, it would be a long wintry walk for her!! (I might let her stay off- just this once)

I am going to visit my friend on Sunday and hopefully I will be able to be of some more practical help, I'll take my steam press and do her ironing, I think.

Take it easy if you are travelling in snow.

Means I'll be able to catch up with you all later xxBBxx

snowing here - yay - exdh has dropped 10yodd at school and had to sign a form to say that she can play in the snow at her own risk! i cut my finger this morning slicing bread - yes it is hm since you ask - what are you implying. No plasters in the house so am sitting here with a wodge of loo roll typing one handed while waiting for the bleeding to stop enough to cycle into work where i can raid the first aid box for one. bike is defrosting in the kitchen at the moment but i don't think i can put off braving the elements for much longer
    have a good day all!
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

    Hi Everyone,

Long time, no post as w**k was calling:wave:

Off today to pack for our long weekend away in Sussex.

Supposed to be travelling today in our motor home to Littlehampton and then on to Butlins at Bognor tomorrow.   not necessarily in that order :rotfl:

Have been looking forward to the break for ages but now the snow looks like it will stop us - we have about 3 inches and it has just taken OH 20 minutes to travel 2 miles to work.

The journey is mostly motorway but even so it would be stupid to travel in this weather and I don't suppose the campsite we were stopping in overnight will be open.

Looks like we will travel tomorrow by car instead and go straight to Bognor.

I think it was Amie who lives in Bognor and said they have no snow but Murphys Law says if we make it there in the motor home we won't be able to get around as the snow will follow us.

Have a good day everyone and keep warm and safe.:grouphug:

    All the best
    Gilly

Topher BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY Morning all, well no snow here pretty cold though.Cats all done and am waiting for pet food order this morning. Kyle have to say your children are amazingly beautiful. The photos you posted yesterday were wondrful. They ALWAYS make m smile. Please keep them comming. DH got off to school poor lamb has ANOTHER parents evening,They are trialing a "twilight" parents vening but still doing the evening time slots at the mo. His first meting is at 4:40 his last 8:55!!!!!!!!!!!To make matters worse they are apparently famous as "no show's" but he has to stay just in case, with a gap from 6:35 to 8:55. Am also FURIOUS with Tesco(AGAIN) DH takes some pasta and pesto to have for tea, anyway exactly two weeks ago he had another parents evening and I did the pasta on the Wed evening. When I put the pesto in I noticed that there was a bl**dy great chunk of glass missing from the bottom of the jar, so had to do it all over again. Didn't do anything about it as I decided it was probably my fault (maybe I'd knocked it etc( So last night DH cooked the pasta and went up to bed, I got the jar of pesto checked the bottom of the jar, it was ok so started to put it into the cooked pasta. This feels gritty I think have a look-the reason its bl**dy gritty is because THERE IS A S*DDING Hole in the bottom of the jar AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM NOT HAPPY. If anyone has a jar of Tesco green pesto do be careful. Am going to do someletters that are screaming to be done and then some more hand washing if I can brave the cold!!! Have a great day gang, all those of you with snow please be careful. Stay warm and safe. Loads of love to Snowy Owl. P-p! glad your sister is over the worst you must be so relieved to have seen her(and it would have made her day). Take care gang. Oh its just started to snow!!!!!!

Snow snow snow here in Worcester. Best snow my kids have ever seen and the oldest is 11. The 2 younger ones are definitely off school, but my eldest's school seems to be the only school not on the closed list  My friend who gives him a lift with her daughter has decided not to take them, so if we get into trouble for missing school I'm blaming her :D

OH has set off to Brum for work  I expect we'll venture out for a walk later. The kids have already made a snowman.

I've got bread to make and might make some gingerbread too. Can't remember what I'd got planned for tea tonight, feel like a big beefy stew but haven't got any beef. Soup for lunch though ;)
