Sorry to hear your news - welcome to Old Style. I dip in and out as I work full time and don't always get the time to check out the boards - but I find it an inspiration.

It's great to know that there are so many other OS's out there home cooking, cleaning and looking out for each other.

WOAH, this is a long thread today  And it isn't even 6.00 yet!

Haven't had a chance to read yet - I woke up at 7.25 this morning - have to be out the door by half past. Managed to get to work on time, luckily I packed my lunch last night. So glad it's Friday tomorrow.

This weekend, we are planning on going to the Eden project on Saturday - want to go to the ice rink before its taken down, plus I haven't been there before. I also got to do my meal plan and shopping list, as well as go shopping at some point

Donna you are such a wonderful person I am sure you will handle whatever is thrown at you.

Lil-me you don't sound daft at all. I sold my wonderful Escort a few years ago. I had spent a fortune on having it welded up and resprayed. It was white with metallic blue exhaust, gear knob and tyre caps. I sold it to some stupid boy racer who wrapped it round a lamp post and abandoned it there, he hadn't even completed the transfer documents so the police came after me. Luckily I had kept all his details but how I cried over the state of that poor car!

    Evening everyone :hello:

Wow! What a busy thread! I'll read through it later, but in the meantime (((hugs))) to those that need them and :j :j to those that need them. :D

I had a lovely day with my parents yesterday. The dog is fine, and she was really pleased to see me. :D My mum took me to Lincoln for lunch, then we went to "The Collection", which is a newish museum (that replaced a car park ). Well, I'll only be going back to the museum if I had a child under 12 to go with me............ which I don't, so I'll be safe!

I've had a day of supply work today, which was nice. The school was open, so at least that was a paid work day. DH has to travel 50 miles to get to his work, so he set off early this morning. However, there have been times in the past when he has travelled that far and yet people whose houses he passes on the way "can't get in"!

I'm still deliberating about what to do with my life/job, but hopefully a week of rest and away from children will help me to get things clearer in my mind. We go to the Lake District on Saturday, so we're hoping to get snowed in there. :D Actually, snowed in there for the rest of our lives would be lovely. :D:D

DH has just called to say that he's on his way back, so I'd better go and put supper on. We're having "Tuscan bean soup", the recipe I got from the latest Tesco magazine. I also need to cook a chicken casserole for us to take up to the Lakes.

Don't often get the chance to do more thn glance at this thread, but having closed the school today I've had a bit more time! I wish I could keep up with you all regularly as I think you're a really friendly bunch - hope you don't mind me eavesdropping over the fence from time to time! Now, an agonising night wondering whether tomorrow's roads in rural Essex will be icy - all my staff live at least 9 miles away from the village the school is in. Should I just let the kids start half-term early? Love and hugs to you all.

Checked the school website and ours is 19th - 23rd feb so I have another week of peace before my house fills up with lots of teenage girls :D
