Hi All,
Well, I have received so much help from people on here, its time I made the return to here, and offered you FREE ( click on the thanks button though
) advice about anything Computerish, telephoneish, networkingish, ITish
Here's a little about me Qualifications and background.
31yr old, Senior Technical Analyst. Been in the game since I was 17. Worked for Local Gov, and County Gov, and now work for Motortrade ( why? free car, free fuel and free mobile
)
Anyway, been around in IT for so long, and I get paid to keep up with the times. I have experience, in Windows 98 through to Vista. I have full Office Knowledge, as well as Email and Exchange 2003 and windows 2003 knowledge. I know about networking, home and work, and cisco routers, and switches and printers, and plugs and sockets and phones and phone lines and and and and, list is endless.
If I can help you, I will, and if I cannot then I will try my hardest to get he answer for you ( have lots of friends in the IT World ) .
I cannot do alot for MSE, but this is what I can do, and its a better service than dell and PC World
So please, feel free to contact me, PM me, MSN ME, email me, I will give you sound adivce to your problem, as I am not making anything thing from this, not a penny.
I know, you ask why, as I would Well on here, there is a dream Team, a few select people that basically, saved me from doing something stupid. Now its my turn to repay this community, and IT is all I know, so, here, I am offering it.
Don't be shy, no question is a silly or stupid one. Every question is valid.
Best Wishes One and All
Shaun

I need help finding a placement job using CISCO Networking equipment
Does that qualify?
(I have a CNAP CCNA and CNAP CCNP 1 and 2 as well as CNAP IT Essentials and halfway through a network computing degree...)[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Sorry I am not a recruitment Agency
I suggest Reed.co.uk, or Monster.co.uk are you best bets. With those Qualifications, you should have employment in no time.

Any good on vista and office 2007? I have set up office 2007 and accidentally set up as an exchange server, as it did not create the files, it says ...../outlook.pst is not an offline file and closes, I have uninstalled office and reinstalled and still have the same problem, i have also tried copying the .pst from my other hard drive and still does not work
I need to clear the settings from outlook... any help available? We’ve had to remove your signature because your opinion differs from ours. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why you can not have your own opinion on here and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

That's an incredibly kind offer. Perhaps you can give me some advice. I want to buy a laptop but being an very untechy girly haven't a clue what the whole celaron, centrino and dual core means. I was going to buy an Advent 7113 from Pc world because it had good memory, hard drive, Vista Premium and looked good basically but a lot of people have said no you should go for acer, toshiba, dell, etc. Basically I want the best I can get with the latest technology so i don't have to upgrade too soon for around £500. Any advice gratefully received!0

Stay away from Celeron ( we call them Celery ) processors. They are the cheap end of the market, and you soon find out that they have no umph
Dual Core, means it has 2 Processors, and the system uses these to make your applications faster. ( like have 2 workers instead of 1 worker )
Centrino, is the mobile technology Intel Uses.
Personally, I would always recommend DELL. I use them, I buy them, and have no problems with them. Price wise, they are usually unbeatable. Check the site, but give them a call, as they usually display 1 price, but you can get it cheaper on the phone. When they tell you, you need this software, that software, just say no thank you. Take a good look at what you want to do, write it down, and stick to your guns. Don't get badgered into something you don't want.
I cannot "honestly" recommend a single laptop, as they are all pretty much do the same, its all down to budget. I brought Dell's cheapest laptop for my sister, as thats all she had ( I know, its a celery ) but she loves it.
Best of luck

do you have any advice on these IT training companies that offer 1yr courses to achieve the mcse certification? they promise work placement on completion.
I obviously have my reservations about how much value employers would place on a qualification that takes 1yr of part time study to complete.
do you know if the mcse cert is really worth having??0 -

Here's what google throw out for it

There used to be one in Manchester called conectivity(sp?) they also had a base in London, they did training NOT distance learning tho and also gave you a 40day placement at companies looking to recruit
