Morning all, isn't the weather horrendous....brought down a tree in the back garden last night which is jammed up against the shed door, so no access to that and the fallen tree will have to stay until the weather improves slightly, can't lift it on my own, we will most likely need a skip and a couple of chainsaws to tidy the mess...not looking forward to that, on the upside, maybe I will get the garden somewhat tidied when the tree is being cleared away..I am another one who is glad to see you posting Hester, missed your morning missives...JulieG, a good glug of castor oil might help? Only kidding, Roo will arrive when he/she is good and ready though have to admit the last couple of days waiting just seems to drag doesn't it. Not been counting NSD's but I believe that apart from buying one loaf of bread and some milk in the last couple of days I have not shopped since day before Christmas Eve, can't believe that...so dinner last night was interesting...smoked back rashers of bacon, jacket spud and garden peas....easy and tasty. Lunches made, chicken out of freezer for tonights dinner of Thai curry. Another days work to face, not looking forward to that, just one Lotto jackpot win would sort all my problems and I could tell my bosses where to go...Anyway onwards and upwards, hugs and high fives to anyone who feels like one this morning, stay safe and hope the wind dies down sooner rather than later. Might be back later to check up on you all...Cheers

    Morning all

JG - Roo, get a move on!!

Blowing a gale here too, so much so that I'm going to take the car not minibus cos car is right outside the door, and I'm worried I'll get blown away walking the 2 mins to where the bus is parked! :rotfl:

Day in the office today, need to sort out lots and lots for my new group of kids starting next week. I will be based in a remote office which is not actually one of our buildings so I need to take everything I may possibly need with me!

OS wise - HM soup for lunch, LO HM curry for tea from freezer, need a few bits so will pop to shops after work to get those, more packing needed to be done tonight. WM will go on, ydays laundry to be put away. DW will go on.

    Have a great day all

    Morning All,

Fingers crossed for you today JulieG, Roo is obviously v comfortable
nmlc we have lost a fence panel in the night, just one though. DH tells me we are responsible for the fence to the right of our property. Don't know if its the same for everyone, but we will replace it.
A horrible night here as well with everything rattling and a gale blowing down the chimney. It's still very windy so everyone keep safe.
All my lot have gone off to school/work so nice and quiet. Just pulled some Christmas roast pork out of the freezer so will have that with onion gravy, mash and veg.
Lots of washing to do today as well, but the house is clean and tidy, I had a wizz round before my visitors came last night. The food went down very well and just a small bit of pud left which we will have that tonight.
Well off for brekkie and catch up with One Born Every Minute:D

Have a good day all Jx

  • Morning all,

MrS is off to work and my morning chores are done. Going to put bm on later, or may do by hand - not sure. Am actually wondering whether to eBay breadmaker as it's not being used much and sits in the cupboard doing nothing the majority of the time. Might make an active attempt to use it over the next few wmonths and see.

Hens are out and have already laid for me - I'm running out of room for eggs so will definately do some baking today. I have a feeling mum will pop round so I may well do some Dairy Free muffins for her and a banana loaf for us with some past their best fruits.

All other jobs remain to be done, and my list is getting bigger but the builder is back again today and boy can he gab for Britain! Lovely bloke though and really reasonable on price so I shouldn't complain too much - I need to get some quotes for the guttering done today too.

Need to get fires lit as the wind is howling down the chimneys and blowing squeaky doors back and forth. I must try to remember to oil the door hinges today too.
  • I read way more than I post normally but just want to wish you, JG, good luck with Roo (good name, nickname my mum gave me and in turn DD) and to wish everyone well.

Like patentgirl, we are in Kent so brighter and nicer here. Thanks to you tip PG we are off to a £land too to buy some sets. Second year of allotmenting so still getting it together.

    Have a good day.
    Put the kettle on. ;)

    morning all!

2 days off - and I'm coming down with a cough/cold I think:( fingers crossed its not a bad one, I was thinking I was lucky to escape it at the end of last year. Its just in my throat in the moment.

House is tidy. WM is on. Too windy here to hang it out - I dont want to be chasing it round the garden. Our small greenhouse blew over and smashed yesterday:eek: so DH had to gather up the glass so the dogs are safe out there.

Going to ring my friend shortly - he nephew collapsed and died suddenly a couple of day ago while riding his bike - he was only 17 and it was out of the blue - I only heard late last night so not spoke to her yet.

Going to get some cooking books out this afternoon - our menu needs an overhaul - we're too stuck in a rut!

(((hugs))) to those in need of them

    Take care all x

    Morning All

Got some uni work done, did another load of washing, I honestly dont know how I am creating so much washing for myself, there is only me in the flat, and am now making a vegetable stirfry.

I finished my scarf and was feeling very pleased with myself because I learnt how to do the pearl stitch yesterday as well. So I bought some new wool and thought I would make an infinity scarf. I cast on 137 stitches like I was supposed then did one round, only to drop 2 stitches at the very end.

so now im feeling very sorry for myself. I am meeting some of my knitting group later though, so hopefully someone will be able to help me out. :o

Thats about all the OS I have got going at the moment.

Topsy, thinking of you and your dad at this time.
Tappers, hugs to you and your friend. What an awful thing to happen.
