When I worked in the US all this was costing me $60 per month so £85 quid is quite a poor deal, but I would just like to add that I find going out far more enjoyable than sat in watching endless tripe on the TV and paying a man with a beard for the priveledge0

I don't think you're right, I think it applies to existing customers as well. My evidence:
- I'm an existing customer and got a postcard in the mail saying that we're changing to Virgin Media, and explaining what it means for existing customers. It said that all broadband packages will now be unlimited.
- Virgin.net is no longer, it now redirects to Virgin Mobile
- On Virgin Mobile, the broadband packages for non-cable are the same as they were with Virgin.net except now it says unlimited downloads.
Because of the first point, if they try to hit me with any bandwidth cap warning, then I'll simply say they told me it was so. Also, it's the same price anyway, so it would be silly to waste people's time to "upgrade" to the same package with the same price and name.0 -

No you need top upgrade, I got the same leaflet and phoned them before launch date, they told me they where choning packages on launch date and if you are on the "old" bundles you will not have unlimited broad band,(on mine any way, Bundle 3 £9.99 a month),

For those of us with young kiddies, watching TV is as good as it gets!0 -
I currently have sky 2 packages for £15 per month. I also have sky + which when I downgraded my packages they forgot to charge me for it seems. I need to get a new BB provider as my old place of work provided it free ( and as they pay 1 year in advance I still have it free to March) but thats ending. I have a BT line which costs £11 month. I have heard that Sky are no longer doing deals to keep existing customers but that some totally new deals are out today. But not paying for this service enables you to sit down with the kids and play instead of plonking them infront of the box to vegetate, saving all those £85 per month adds upto quite a nice holiday.
£1020.00 is quite a lot of money to dish out, and anyway kids watch kids TV something which is available from Freeview channels a one off payment of £30 which is a far better deal, I think you have convinced yourself that the kids really need it :rolleyes:

I think you misunderstood a bit. It's not so much for the kids, it's for us once they are in bed!
Come 8pm, we can't go to the pub or the movies or anything, so we flop exhausted onto the sofa to watch some TV instead, or we'll be on t'internet.
Prior to kids (and wife!) I used to be out basically every night. Each night is at least £10, usually a lot more, so a realistic £100 per week. £400 per month compares badly to the £85 substitute!0 -

I'm not sure you are right. My cousin in New York pays around $90 per month for basic cable/telephone/Internet. There are no movie or sports channels. $60 seems very cheap.
