Fed up with the unlabelled GM-fed animals & poultry and the additives in meat OH and I have started going organic. Just wondering whether organic stuff gets yellow-stickered much please ?

I've seen organic milk reduced in Sainsburys quite a lot recently

is anyone still getting bargains from morrisons. we have been the last 2 days, 15 min before closing and all the reduced stuff still really high only like 20p off. are the staff reducing it for themselves after closing? think i might email morrisons to find out as the amount of stuff left on the shelves at that time is a total waste if not reduced further.

I get most of my reductions from Morries. Regularly get bags of 5 - 7 bagels for 19p and loads of other bargain bread. I got 2 large corn fed chicken breasts for £2 last week (60% off) and regularly get fresh fish and meat half price or more depending on the time I visit. 50% off is good enough for me though although I know others will wait for bigger reductions.

    2 cucumber halves 9p each
    Bag of tangerines 45p
3 packs of scotch pancakes 4p each
4 packs of 6 bread rolls 20p each
    Pack of sausage rolls 35p

Disappointed there was no meat and had to buy full price bananas

I went to my local Coop today and as ever the reductions were minimal. I can't plan a cheap last minute deal any more but did buy some ys for complete convenience, but I would have been better to have made myself - and heaven only knows who would buy these things at the full price.

It's been great having a Tesco Express opening right by us, they have a lot of reduced stuff, if you get there at the right time.

One day this week I got:-

    2 boxes of cherry tomatoes
    2 bags of pears
    3 bags of shallots
    1 bag of salad leaves
    1 punnet of apricots
1 bag of bananas (still green)
2 boxes of Finest mini peppers
    3 bags of carrots
    1 bag of spring onions

all for about £3.50 (some was on 3 for 2, and this still worked as well!)

Last night I popped round and got 3 bags of Rooster potatoes for £1.50, they were £2.08 each, reduced to 75p each, but on 3 for 2 as well, so came to £1.50!

I go to my local on Sundays and i'm getting some really good bargains the only problem is the rest of the family wants a share. Getting to know the regulars as well.

:)Well I hit the jackpot last night. Arrived just as nice young man was putting extra stickers on things and...not another YS hunter in sight :j. I bought quite a lot as my freezer was fairly empty. Lots of premium sandwhich meats (beef, chicken) 35p per pack, ready meals 35p (I wouldn't normally buy these or recommend them but at that price they are useful to have in when one of us are eating alone, or we are having odd using - up meals. Some gorgeous fresh soups 35p (these are great on YS and I get a free freezer container when I've finished! These freeze very well) Shape Yoghurts 35p, pack of 2 garlic breads 35p, large bakewell pie 35p, bagels 19p.

It was lovely to be able to just browse in my own time without any pushing, shoving and grabbing. The lovely young man just told me to pick what I wanted and he will put another sticker on them :). I was very happy. I was so restrained to not clear the shelves and to leave some for someone else but when I did my second circuit there was still loads of stuff and no one was even looking, so I ended up with loads (sorry temptation was too great). I think the rain kept all the usual bunch away.

My food bill now seems to be coming in at £150 pm (for 4 of us) and I think I have now saved my household enough money to justify a second freezer. OH seems keen as he can now see it saving us money in the long run. ;)

    Hows everyone else doing?

Well flippin 36, I went to my local tesco at 6.30 tonight and had the complete opposite experience to you! Just managed to get 4 baking spuds on ys at 32p and some ham from deli half price. Wasn't even worth the petrol. Oh well you win some and lose some. Must try harder next time(lol)

Don't worry Matty I have those nights all the time, stick with it as there is a lot of luck involved, which is why we need to make the most of the good finds :)
