yes we've been to pontins before and I am still mulling it over:A
we go everywhere and our budget is tight, so I'll be checking sites for reduced tickets, discounts etc in the area we go to
I did La croix de vieux pont twice which was nice .. I'll just paste here now what I wrote on another site to answer someone else
we have been here twice , good mix of people german, dutch, spanish
we use the sun holidays booking it totalled approx £60 , the ferry cost £40 approx as I booked asap
we used a map search and travelled the back roads not using any tolls
the petrol we filled up 4 times - its a small car that takes approx £35

its a good distance from disney so be warned leave early
I did sandwiches etc the night before ... we got up washed dressed thrown into the car and off asap
ate fruit and sandwiches for brekkie on our way and got there in good time ... its about an hours drive
take a change of clothes ... food is expensive in disney and dont forget the car park charge !
I bought tickets from france via search and the disney tickets were £29 each

its also close to chateu pierrefonds ( they shoot merlin there) but the pool at the camp is fun
kids will spend all day there and its covered so great in bad weather
the local cora supermarket is in soissons a 10 min drive

there is no TV in the caravans !!! we took 2 laptops with dvds for the kids ,nintendo ds
    and coloring books

there is no night time entertainment like the british camps .. there is the bar, few machines ... occasionally a kids disco but err thats it ...
but we made friends easily and we really enjoyed ourselves, took a dvd or 2 for us and the bar sells
daily internet access for 5 euros, so you can go online at the bar area
so I'd been checking emails on my laptop & the little one with her new friends round her would watch scooby doo on the other !
this is all info I wished I had been told before I came the first time
take one of those mini fans, cos if its hot like it was one year we went 30d+ it makes a difference.

both times I got my codes and checked the internet for when the last code word was broken by die hard sun holiday fans usually the day before its issued and managed to book dates for july when school had just finished - about the 19th

    Hi lil lady ,
I thought the 1st day of booking was tuesday ?
Is it possible to book before - as i have to leave the house at 7:30am & wont be back until after 6pm
Im already quite ltd as im only looking for 2 half term dates that are within a certain distance & take a dog !
so by the time i got online tuesday evening im pretty certain they would all be gone !

yes you can use more than one priority code per address i did last year.

I also last year booked a holiday in my husband's name and then another holiday in my name. I have emailed the sun twice as we received my husband's priority code and reference number and I did not receive one.
The Sun have replied and given me a code, which is exactly the same reference number as my husbands! I contacted them again to say this reference number is in my husband's name - there should be one in my name - and again they replied with the code which is my husband's code

There is no such thing as a stupid question....

    1. Tools - Macro - Security (medium Security recommended)

    2. You click the button which activates the macro. The macro has been recorded to open the website and fill in the form with the nine code words and the sun ref number. It will also enter one of the words listed on the code sheet (1000's of 4 letter words). To make the process quicker we each work on words starting with different letters of the alphabet.

Macros can be recorded to do malicious things on your computer e.g steal or corrupt your files. You must make sure you trust the macro before running it. This is not easy for a beginner to judge.

    3. Excel can be a challenging program for anyone to learn. To use the file you need only to know how to open the file and click in the cells (little boxes) and enter your sun ref number and code words, then the button to activate the macro.

    4. For reasons explained above it would be a good idea to disable macros after you have finished with the file.

The code breaking file that has been posted will not work as it was created to be used for 8 code words. I have updated this to work for 10 code words. I'm unable to post links because I'm a newbie so I'm waiting on someone to give me their email address so I can send and then they can share on this forum.

    Hope this helps!

Have just got my invoice from Haven for Burnham total cost is £122. Broken down it is £40 booking through Daily Mail, £30 Electricity service charge, £38 entertainment passes and £14 for linen. We are going 2nd April Easter holidays mon-fri and would have cost us a lot more than this so am very happy with what I have paid. I could take the linen charge off but am going to leave it as it is less for me to carry on the train.

I am going to try for a week at Duindrell for July. This is my first time booking a sun holiday but OH received a priority code in the post. Have been browsing the faqs on the sun website and it shows as £30 a person for 1 week for these dates. As we don't drive has anyone got any recommendations of any other european parks that are easy to get to by flying with a pretty decent public transport to get to see a few sights. Last year we did a week at La Carabasse through clubcard in June but the weather was terrible so it kind of spoilt it for us as there was very little public transport to get around. If the weather had been ok it would have been fine as we could have used the pool and spent time on the beach.

I will be happy to help trying out codewords on Monday. I spotted earlier in the thread that someone has posted a huge list of words sorry I can't remember who. For anyone who uses firefox if you install the split pannel add on you can have both pages up side by side making it easier to check the words without having to swap between browsers.

Thanks - defo for me will be cheaper to book through Haven as we are going the 30th April and they include electric/gas/entertainment - nothing was mentioned about the service change but will look again.

Have you been before to Burnham on Sea?

It should make more sense when the site is open and you attempt to use the file. There will be a lot of us on the forum trying to figure out the last code so there should be plenty of help available if you get stuck.

If you prefer you can always enter random code words - you may get lucky!

I have never booked before so don't know how the booking form layout works but for those not feeling confident on using macros or not able to get their head around using them i'm wondering would it be possible to use roboform form filler and saving the details after filling in the first 9 codewords so that only the last word would need to be filled in thus saving having to type all words out each time when trying new words.
  • I've read a few posts about people not paying for entertainment passes but still getting them on arrival for free, has this happened to many others or has anyone paid for passes once they got there?
    Thanks :)

Entertainment passes are FREE at certain parks and season. Check the Sun newspaper listings or online for details as it specifies which parks have free passes and dates available.

I got mine free on arrival but knew this beforehand. I hope it helps.
