£9.50 The Sun Holidays Jan 2012 code words

Just to explain about the code word "GLOW" in case anyone hasn't mentioned it earlier (I'm not checking the whole thread)
Anyway I have been on several Sun £9.50 holidays to Butlins & Haven over the years. So I received my priority reference number as usual with the bonus code word "FREE"
However I also took part in the Sun Perks promotion at Xmas, where you collect perk points out of the newspaper & swap for food, gifts etc, so I received a separate priority reference with the bonus code word "GLOW".
I checked with The Sun & I can book one break with my usual priority reference online using "FREE" plus 9 other code words. I can also, if I wish, book a second break with my other priority reference online using "GLOW" plus 9 other code words.
YOU CANNOT USE "GLOW" & "FREE" ON THE SAME BOOKING IT'S EITHER, OR.
For those asking about Butlins upgrades, the online upgrades are for bigger caravans at holiday parks that offer bigger caravans. As Butlins £9.50 breaks are not caravans you cannot use the online option. If you book Butlins through £9.50 holidays you are booking standard self-catering accommodation, you pay £9.50 per person deposit when you book on The Sun website. Butlins will then contact you with booking confirmation & you pay them direct for service charge, bed linen etc. It is around £110 for a 4 night break so a family of 4 pay £38.00 to The Sun when they book followed by a further £72.00 to Butlins due 8 weeks before your holiday date or immediately if the holiday is within 8 weeks.
It is exactly the same for Haven who are owned by the same company Bourne Leisure. Once you receive your confirmation you can call Butlins or Haven & ask for an upgrade to better accommodation or even to half board but prices vary & are subject to availability. We upgraded to standard half board at Skegness Butlins in April from a £9.50 holiday, it cost £240 for a family of four. When we checked it was cheaper to have booked direct through Butlins.com in the first place.
As for all the bad remarks about Pontins, they were in administration & in a very bad state as their resorts hadn't been updated since the 70's/80's. But they were bought out by The Brittania Hotels group who have invested millions in accommodation & are slowly getting each resort up to scratch. Pontins are one of the only companies on the Sun promotion where you pay no more than £9.50 per person, there's no extra entertainment or service charges on most dates. So for £38.00 for a family of four for a four night break you cant really moan if it's not 5 star.
Enjoy your breaks everyone0 -
Has anyone experience of booking for a group of 6 or more people on a european site? Last year I was participating in the code word guessing game, got on the sun website as soon as the word was guessed, tried to book for holland and france for 6 people but got nothing. If I tried to search for 4 people then availability for my dates and parks came up straight away. I was really fed up and sat (for a long time) checking every european park (every country!) on the website for availability for 6 for my July date and not one came up, but all came up with availability for 4.
Have any of you thoughts or experience of this? do you think that the parks only have availability for larger groups during quieter times?
I would like to book for europe but dont want to waste valuable booking time if it is unlikely to happen, and risk losing my english options.
I posted this ages ago but cant see any responses about european parks and parties of 6 on the forum. Can I just check again if there is anyone out there that in the past has successfully booked for a group of 6 online for europe? many thanks0 -

This is a really good deal. £90 all in - including Club Class - cheaper than booking a Sun Holiday, also many many different dates available.
I went to Pontins Prestatyn last year through The Sun Holidays & paid an extra £1.50 to upgrade to Club Class on top of the initial £38. With Club Class the entertainment passes & utilities & bedlinen & free paper are included
I must say credit where credit is due the apartment was spotless with new beds & the whole site was being overhauled at the time.
So I''ve booked this instead of going through The Sun. I've paid £95 for 6 of us in a Club Class apartment at the end of April :T
HTH ♥
edit - it reads like I work for Pontins..... I don't but I do like to praise a good dealOur Family Motto ~If all else fails - read the instructions...

Have you tried Haven Hafan Y Mor (formerly Butlins Pwllheli)????
It's a large park with kids clubs, splash waterworld, shows etc & the accommodation is clean & tidy.

My mum isnt using her priority code this year and has offered it to my brother as he has never done it before. Does anyone know how this will work? Does my brother need to book in my mums name? And will my mum have to pay for it for him? Confused :-/
Thanks in advance0 -

When he books it will have your mum's name, address and email filled in but your brother can delete those and put in his own details, and he can use his own credit card to pay.52% tight0 -

hi from what im aware of, when your nrother books he wil have to input his own name after his priority code so it will all be in his name =D and then next time the sun send priority codes, ur mom and ur brother will both get priority... hope this helps0 -
We booked le chene gris last year. We are a family of 5 but 3 of us are kids!! We got a lovely chalet/van but it was a double and a twin with an overhead bunk and not huge by any means but fine for us. You could log on as a party of 6 to see if you get a bigger van. If the'yre not offering the larger vans on the offer then I guess you'll soon find out but then would a mainly adult part of 5 want this type of accommodation? Its up to you but wouldn't surprise me if they only offering the 5 bed vans, but you never know, gotta be worth a nosey!!!!
Thanks will consider booking as a 6 if this option is available as a 3 bed van will be sufficient. I am also considering the wooden lodges from Canvas for the La Croix de Vieuz site but they are expensive.0
