i am always completely amazed at the number of new poster who arrive in here asking for priority codes. Posters who have registered with MSE just to ask for a priority code:eek:
Also i am thinking that maybe for the next round of sun / daily mail holidays it might be best to write a Frequently Asked Questions post and to post it at the beginning of the thread or even to ask if it could be a sticky at the top of this forum?
What do others think of this idea?
We could then tell people to read the FAQ and then we would not have to keep answering the same old questions for days on end:)

I pop the word on each morning around 7am , I appreciate it may not update straight away but it times and dates when it is updated and still there are questions asked as to where the code isproud to be a young stroke survivor0 -

I agree on both counts. Every sun promotion, there are new posters or ones that havent used the forum for ages but come on to request a priority code!
I'm always slightly tickled by the inevitable sob story attached.:)
also agree about a faq sticky,- a good idea.
I always wade through the posts, but sometimes miss things, so i am probably guilty of it myself occassionally.0 -
HI
I have asked the board guides if it would be ok for us to write a sticky FAQ for Sun / Daily Mail Newspaper holidays. If they say yes, we can put together a list of the questions / answers so that when the next holidays are announced - probably end of march - we will not have to keep answering - how do i book online, can i have a code, can you book 2 holidays, can i book 10 people in one van, how do i book 7 days, can i take a dog, can you give me a code for free even though this is the first time i have ever been on this website, please will you tell me everything about my chosen site coz i can't be ***** to search myself:eek: how much is the ferry, do i have to pay any extras, will it be sunny, and how will i know when all you kind MSE'rs have done all the hard work and cracked the last code for me;)
but seriously we could start to compile a list of the regular questions so let me know of any other questions we could answer in the FAQ?

I think that with the The Sun having a website with all these answers;a contact form for each page for queries not answered, & they are pretty good at replying fairly quickly so it's not as if the answers are not there.
people still ask despite it all because they want the same reply in 20 different ways before they believe it. It's exactly what my 6 yr old does ? 20 variations of the same question with replies from as many people as possible before accepting it lol..proud to be a young stroke survivor0 -
I'm not saying I don't think it's a good idea because it is a very good idea to have a FAQ for referral
I am just not convinced it will be read ... lolproud to be a young stroke survivor0 -
Hi all. I was addicted to this thread last yr but it seems i've missed a fair bit this year
Could anyone fill me in on a few things please:
Are we going to attempt to crack the final code on this thread?
When would we be able to book if we do crack it?
I didn't get all my info in the post but I e-mailed them and they sent me my ref no but I remember the ''rockers & non-rockers'' year. Did they do something similar this year?
Also we are going with friends but need two caravans so I have got a second ref from someone but to get on to the booking site you need an e-mail. Has anyone ever booked before with someone elses ref? Can you just put your own e-mail in?
Sorry for so many questions and thanks in advance

Hi Art
I'm one of those people that asked for information about sites, (Hoburne Park, Hoburne Bashley and Shorefield Country Park). But that's not because I can't be ***** to search for myself, because I do loads of research on lots of sites before I make my final choice. I just think it's helpful to get other Sun Holidaymaker's opinions, particularly when you are travelling with babies and young children.
Because of the information and advice people have given about their holidays, I'm even toying with the idea of trying a French holiday next time. (I'm just not sure I'm brave enough to drive abroad with the kids yet). Thanks to everybody who has given info on La Croix de Vieux Pont. And a massive thanks to Lil Lady for updating the code words every day!!!:)

gosh bubbles thanks .. I've asked about holiday sites myself and do heaps of research for cheap everything
its nice to chat and I put info myself down about the french sites which I wish I'd know before going myself
but when someone asks about a basic question that's already been answered several times its obvious they haven't read the basic faq and are asking for clarification ... thats a tad annoyingproud to be a young stroke survivor0 -

:rotfl:Im a newbie with regards to being registered on site & I couldn't agree with you more.
Think it is a bit of a cheek to register just to ask for priority codes or code words especially as they are already listed in this posting if people actualy bothered to read the posts.
Ironically it probably took them longer to register & post their Q than it would have been just to have read all the posts !
I found the Sun website very easy & self explanatory myself, but then I 'did' actually read it.
I do think it ok to ask others of their opinions on their experiences of particular holiday sites & how they found the accommodation/entertainment & it's location to various tourist places.
But people do have to remember that it is just that persons opinion of that site/accommodation/area every person makes their own holiday & have their own expectations .
Remember some people are just born moaners & if you book budget/standard dont complain when that is what you get, if budget/standard is beneath you UPGRADE.
Me, I book standard & for location only,it's somewhere to bunk my head after a long day sight seeing so I couldn't care less if the accommodation is dated as long as I can make a cup of coffee,go to the loo, shower & sleep it's worth my £40.:)In life try to be nice to others, you never know who you are going to meet on your way down...0
