Email/phone agreement by a Hypnotherapist

If she is a member of any professional bodies it would be worth contacting them, both to help you get her off your back and to ensure she does it to no one else.0

I think you're right - hypnosis works on susceptible people. If you're minds open to it then it can work wonders! However, as you rightly pointed out, she should be charging you £200, £500 - whatever the fee is, because she's so over-run with customers she can only just about fit you in, not because she's so under-run she's spending every waking hour emailing you crap!
To be honest, I disagree with everyone else. I don't doubt she spent an hour and a half emailing you. her grasp of the English language is so sparse it probably took four re-writes.
On the Companies House note, good on you for checking. Equally, I can register a company with them for about £30 and five minutes of time - just putting it into perspective
Best way I can find to relax when i get stressed is to go to the DVD cabinet, find the funniest sitcom or stand up show I've got and watch it all. Start to finish. It brings life back down to normality again, and puts all the stress and hours of anguish to one side0 -

Where did you find her? I found her online whist looking for someone professional to help me. Stupidly I didn't get a recommendation. I have so learnt my lesson! What qualifications does she have? She has NLP qualifications, I have checked and it is true. She said she has a Chemistry degree, couldn't check this.
Is she a member of any recognised bodies? Couldn't find her on any recognised Hynotherapy bodies, I did try.
How far away from your home address is she? She is 3 and a half hours away from me. Has she offered any face-to-face counselling at all? Yes one which was due to be in June 14th but I had to pay £1000 on top of the £200 per month before that date. It all seems very strange indeed.
Thanks for your response sarahg.
I'm just upset that someone who says she is professional and a leader in her field could try and take advantage of someone who wanted help from her.0 -

I am trying to do that at the moment but there are so many hynotherapy associations around it's mind boggling!0 -

You made me laugh lateandlive, my husband said that about her replies to me, he said it looked very unprofessional.
I don't know how it comes across to you but I think she is more upset about losing the money, as she did send 2 emails and 2 texts asking me if there was any way I could continue and because I said I couldn't she is saying that I owe this huge amount to scare me.
She has always made out to me that she is very busy and if I don't get in there quick someone else would get my place, I think now perhaps this is not true as you say how can she have so much time to send me so much nonsensical babble.
I think I'll take your tip up about watching a comedy tonight, thanks. I need a laugh.0 -
Ths person clearly has no idea of professional ethics or behaviour (because she is not a 'professional' in the real sense of the word). Frankly, no-one with a half decent grasp of English should have spent 20 minutes composing a semi-literate email!
I feel that you read the replies on here and gain some confidence, but it all seeps away again once you are on your own. Don't let this person bully you - stand up tall and tell yourself that you are worth more than this. Even if the 'work' that this woman has done is chargeable (which is disputable), the £200 that you have already paid her should more than cover this.
Please don't pay her any more money, and try not to lose anymore sleep about this.
HB58 thanks for your response!
Her website screams about her being a leader in her field and how she has been going for 13 years, she told me she has been successful with hundreds of clients from all over the world. I had no idea until now how unprofessional her behaviour could be.
Everyone on here has been a tremendous help I was a complete wreck on Tuesday, first from my husband’s news then this woman who has no compassion, I know she isn't running a charity but a business but I have given her enough money already for no work on her part. No I most certainly will not give her anymore money.
I have been taken for a fool once will not let her do it to me again!0 -

Take your time though, no rush
Seriously though, I wouldnt worry one iota about this. Perhaps a name and shame is in order so people can read an accurate review of just how "professional" she is before parting with any money to her.
I got both your lovely messages unholyangel, thank you! I had loads of problems replying to your second message, but I hope it's got to you now.
Hee hee I don't want to be done for slander or give her any ammunition to throw at me.
But her name did crop up on a weight loss website when I was looking for reviews on her and people on there were asking if anyone had used her because they can't find anything. I may go on there to advise them to do their research carefully, or perhaps allow them pm me.
Who knows she may have helped somebody somewhere but instead of charging £500 in total like the other Hynotherapists seem to, she fleeced them for £4500 because she knew that they were desparate and she sounded plausible on the telephone.0 -
Time I have already spent working on your behalf – as I explained it takes me the best part of the 30 minutes – 45 minutes to get all the document together and email together which I worked of your behalf, I then since then have spent quiet a lot of time, emailing, texting etc to see how you where getting on so I estimate that I have spent so far – including time today date spent in the region of an hour and a half working on your behalf – this is every time since you said “yes I want to go ahead” where my time has been spent working on your behalf since the initial consultation which is all emails, text messages, creating documnets, telephone calls etc etc – I explained my hourly rate to you and that my reason for not charging per hour when on these programmes as it would add up to significant more.
Writing texts, emails. Checking them etc etc all takes up a lot of time, hence why solicitors charge by the minute in most cases- for example its taken me the best part of 20 minutes now to read your email, reply, check the email etc etc which is all my chargeable time and vie included in my time above
I'd send her this:

Dear Miss Thing,
Thank you for your breakdown of your costs, however as we had not started any of the agreed therapy, no monies are due at this time. As a gesture of goodwill, I am prepared to forego the £200 already paid in order to bring the matter to an amicable close. If this is not acceptable to you, please arrange for the court papers to be served as soon as possible, in order that I can prepare my counter claim for the return of the sum already paid.
Please note that I am not prepared to enter into any further discussion about this matter with you directly. I look forward to confirmation that the matter is closed, or receipt of the appropriate court documents.
Yours Sincerely,
Me

This is bang on!!..
By the way,if she keeps texting you or phoning you, send her a letter via RECORDED DELIVERY(she has to sign for it) and tell her to converse with you that way.
I hope the above letter might stop her from threatening you..
All the best and please let us know how it goes..
Blimey!!-Never thought scammers still exist seeing as we've all become very clever!!!0
