Nope i'm not asleep again but thats because i went to see war horse at the cinema, it was all heart warming and lovely :)

I may have totally ruined all 3 pairs of my black work trousers. My house has a washer dryer and i don't use the dryer part. Unfortunately i failed to notice that my housemate had moved the dials and tumble dryed a bunch of clothes including my work trousers. Now the creases just will not come out i washed them again and ironed them but to no avail.

Any advice? i don't want to buy new work clothes if i'm trying to lose weight.:(

    What are they made of?

  • They are made of polyester and elastane, mostly polyester 97%.

Had a tiny shopping fest today mostly vouchers but there was £90 in cash involved. Needed work clothes though and that was what i bought so no deviation bonus for me.:o

I get too caught up in the challenge part of this and get too anti spending on occasion, just need a balanced long term approach. Work clothes are important.

Ah, that's a bit more of a problem that cotton.

Wash them (your washing machine may have a "rinse" setting) and don't spin them much. Iron them wet, using your iron to dry them while flattening them.

Cotton you can just stick the iron onto "inferno" and it's fine - man-mades you have to be gentle with. Stop if they start going "shiny".

They are. Balancing budgets is not about not-spending but about getting the most for the least.

Good thing too, i have to get some new bike lights, an iron and some bathroom scales. I shall persevere with the trousers and try to limit myself to one new pair to make up the numbers.

  • Ah Thursday thank goodness i don't think i can take much more of this week.

    So where am i ?

I have found a phillips iron that has lots of very good reviews and is on sale in deben**ms for half price ish. However i have yet to find a site that gives points on electrical items any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I can forgo the scales a that is a want not a need and measure myself instead, although i should remember to warm the tape measure first as it was very cold on my waist :(.

Bike lights i think are a must i have some but they don't seem strong enough now that i am cycling in less built up areas. Still the ones i have found are USB rechargeable so no batteries to buy or recycle :)

I might have to put my clothes budget up to encompass the need for new workwear, i still need to find trousers. Just can't find any that fit well, the material can be cheap as long as the fit is good as far as i'm concerned.

Hey ho need to sell the old cat activity centre now and that will be a nice total boost for jan. That will be my weekend chore XX Em

  • Its the weekend :) Happy Happy me.

Its been a quiet day for me i came home and cleaned the lounge after work so the whole of the downstairs is now nice and shiny clean.

I still don't know what iron i want there are too many conflicting reviews, i suspect i shall head down to town tomorrow i think and find one that is suitable. Then i can take better care of my clothes.

Its proving to be a difficult day in terms of resisting fattening foods and spending cash but i'm still persisting. Its really annoying i do fine until i need to spend something then i think oh well i could just get....nope i will be strong but i am rambling.

    Saturdays Plan
    Mystery shop
    black trousers
    black skirt
    haircut
    iron

    That will do for now.:j

  • Ok Saturday

We may have gotten off to a rock start what with me oversleeping and you not waking me up but it all sunshine from here in. So lets get up up up and on with the show.

I just spent the first £20 of my xmas money on a beautiful kissing robins satchel from anorakonline, i should be able to cycle with it and it will be so nice to have the option of not wearing a backpack when i go to town on the weekends :)

Still trying to resist the lure of work clothes (although i do need trousers) and then this evening is ebay your heart out night where we will be featuring some of the finest products to be found in my room on the online stage. Then all that remains is to see if i can bring myself to part with any of my academic textbooks to zapper etc and we shall be over the £100 mark for the make £2012 in 2012.

Come on Saturday show me what your made of grrr

  • I have ordered an iron :)

That aside its time i made a decision on how i'm putting together my challenges this year

    1. Vouchers and reimbursements don't count towards my total of money saved/made unless i sell the item/voucher and put the money in the savings account.

    2. Anything bought with vouchers is not counted towards the budget. Vouchers are in effect free money.

    3. I will keep a total of vouchers earned so that i can see how much i raised this way.

This effectively creates a free money pool for me that i can spend guilt free/use as a discount on things i want not need.:)

In other news i have passed the £100 mark today on the make £2012 in 2012 as i sold my old cat tree to a lady for £45 yay! :T

And i took the plunge and moved my ISA into a fixed ISA bond for 2 years to net me a higher rate of interest should get £400 over 2 years. about £50 more a year than where it was and i can open a new ISA in April.

Long term planning here we come :p

  • Meh!

Men are rubbish. You think they like you but actually they are just trying to get invited into your group so they can ask out your friends.

Seriously beginning to wonder what is the matter with me, i meet lots of great guys but they only want to be my friends then i get to watch them date other girls and treat them really well while i spend my time alone. What is the point in investing in friendships? all you ever do is get shut out when they get partners.

Sorry for complaining just found out that my best friend has been plotting to have his girlfriend of 6 months move in with him here in 6 months time. When she is here i never see him or them as she has couple friends here and they just go out as couples all the time, if she moves here its going to be horrible. Its so much more serious now when people get together, i think that they are planning to get married in the future and then if they have kids thats it i'm going to be practically nothing in his life.

There are 2 different guys btw.
