Well, I finally got around to transfering my 06/07 ISA from the Halifax to YBS last week. I applied for the E-ISA online and was asked to provide proof of identity in order to open my account (it actually appeared online and I could access it but apparently it would close within 42 days if I didn't supply proof of identity along with my printed application form within that time). So I sent the forms off last Friday (4/5/07) remembering to write 'Transfer In' in the top corner of the YBS form. I also sent the transfer request form to Halifax as instructed.

Today (10/5/07, which is impressive since there have only been two working days after the bank holiday) I've received a letter back from YBS welcoming me. Although, it also says:

'We look forward to receiving your initial deposit. You can either send a cheque or pay into your account by direct transfer from another bank or building society account. Subsequent deposits can only be made by direct transfer.'

I don't understand this since it clearly states the following on their website:

'Please note: If you have already subscribed to another cash mini ISA in the current tax year, please do not send an initial deposit with your completed application form.'

I did send them a letter with my application explaining that I've already subscribed to another cash ISA for 2007/08 (Egg) and that I just want to transfer my 2006/07 ISA from Halifax and to YBS.

Did anyone else receive the same letter back when they were doing their transfer? Did your transfer still go through ok?

Thanks for your help in advance.
