Household Bank/Beneficial Finance - HFC Bank Limited

Hey all,
I had an account with these guys a while ago now and the account is now closed. They were once known as Household Bank, now known as Beneficial Finance and are part of HFC Bank Limited, a member of the HSBC Group.
I'm about to send off my letter to HSBC asking for the 6 years of charge info on my main current account.
Does anyone know if I should also ask for the Beneficial Finance account info at the same time when I write to HSBC, seeing as Beneficial Finance are a "member of HSBC Group"?
Any help/advice appreciated.

My question in brief is this... Can I reclaim unfair charges on loan accounts? how could I word a response to HFC's comment below.
The reason for my question and the response received from HFC detailed below...
I had three accounts with HFC a few years ago, All of these were technically loans but one of the accounts was like a rolling loan, i.e. I got a cash card and could take money out up to the maximum amount of my loan. (They were very keen to stress this wasn't a credit or debit card). After being made redundant I fell into financial ruin when none of my PPIs paid out. Needless to say back on track now.
I decide that looking back the charges levvied against me at that time for late/non payment whilst I was negoitating reduced payments to be unfair and wrote to them to request reimbursement of the total amount (this only came to £420)
Quite promptly this morning I received a letter from HFC stating
"The Office of Fair Trading has been investigating the level of default charges in respect of the Credit Card industry. however, your account does not relate to a credit card agreement and therefore we do not accept that it is covered by the OFT's investigation or the announcement it made on 5th April 2006"
Are they right? or just trying to fob me off?
If they are just trying to fob me off, could anyone suggest some appropriate working for the next letter I send (before I start court proceedings)
There doesn't appear to be any other threads relating to HFC. Am I their only customer?
Many thanks

The OFT said that the same principal could apply to bank charges and mortgages. However you are not asking for charges back because of the OFT ruling - you are, I presume, asking for them back under both common law principals and also the Unfair Terms in Consumer Credit Regulations. HFC are trying to fob you off. Just carry on as per the guidance.0

Hi
I am new to the site and i would like to say how useful and informative the site is.I am trying to reclaim £7546 in bank charges which includes charges for returned cheques and their added interest over the last 6 years. So far i have had one letter acknowledging my initial request which points out their complaints procedure and informs me that reimbursement of charges are only relevant to credit cards.HFC bank have ignored my letter which threatens court action and i am now not sure what to do.
I would be grateful for any help or comments
Thanks

Why would you want to send it again?, Stick to your timescales, sending the letter again is unlikely to get a different response. If you sent it recorded delivery move onto the next stage and put the court claim in.0 -

Sorry to gate crash your post, but I am just looking through HFC statements for my parents and i have noticed the following; interest charge = £154.15 this appears regularly throughout the statements and varies in amounts, can this be claimed?0 -
