Resisting the URG to Spend Whilst Getting My Life Back

Back is still sore. I have found that sitting down makes it worse so walked around loads yesterday and felt better for it. I have an appointment with an Osteopath tomorrow. Not cheap but I think it is definately required.
I did not manage any NSDs last week and only managed one lunch to work. I have hopelessly gone over the £40 budget I set myself. I would have managed it if I had stuck to the lunches etc.
Went to Central London yesterday to exchange a birthday gift and put a bit extra to some other items. I also signed up for a sewing class which will be good for my 'hobby' goal.
I am absolutely freezing right now - I am going to get moving and may come back later to set some goals for the forthcomiong week.
Today I will:
-Catch up with ironing
-Washing
-unload dishwasher
-Do a bit of tidying
I'm sure that there's loads more but its a start.
Hope you are having a good Sunday!

Sorry to hear there's no improvement on your back so here's hoping that the osteopath can help0
-
Taxi - you were up early - or was it late!!
Back pain comes and goes. Will be going back to the Osteopath in a couple of weeks - so am hoping to get back to it.
Not much to report. Budget is a little tight but I should be able to get there. Will need to move money from 'holiday' savings for our 'staycation' next week.
I can't wait to be off work - I really am very tired and can't think of a holiday where we've been able to relax since our anniversary trip last May! Roll on Friday.0 -
Have a great staycation xx0

Hi All
Just reporting in from our staycation - I can't believe it's Friday today! Why does time disappear?
We've had some busy days and some really relaxed days. Far too much spending and eating, not enough done but hey - we're on holiday!
We've been to the cinema, to the London Eye (2 for 1 - £20 saving) and to the Tower of London (2 for 1 - £20 saving). We've eaten out - no vouchers there! Most of this was paid through my 'holiday savings'.
I went 'shopping' yesterday and didn't really come back with too much! I went to have a look at some things that I would like (but didn't buy), and also a few things to keep the flat going from Lakeland - I had a £5 off £30 spend to take advantage of!
Tonight we are meeting friends for dinner at Westfield but I don't think we're going to leave too early so we don't spend money.
I have been totting up my spends this morning. I still spend far too much on food and snacks whilst at work - it's not helping my wallett or my waistline. I have only achieved 4 out the 8 planned NSDs - a couple were scuppered with LSDs/Medical costs. One positive is that I have still got £10 cash and my £20 emergency money has not been broken into!
Other stuff to report -- Buildings insurance quote is in. I have the money saved in my 'monthly costs'.
- I've just arranged to receive a new modem from my broadband supplier for FREE! I was expecting to have to threaten to leave. I pay more than the best buys but a previous awful experience means that I pay more for good service!
- Budget for March has been set. I've reduced the amount I put towards savings by as I have been really stretching myself and I find myself resorting to the CC which means I pay it off the following month!
- I've got 25p to go to a payout for an Amazon voucher. I really want this extra money to buy something online and don't want to use 'real' money!

Just got back from a fab evening with my old flatmate - I do miss her!!! As much as I love DH and my new flatmate, I really did develop an excellent relationship with her. We will definately arrange to meet up more often!
Today ended up being a NSD - DH got paid today so paid for dinner and my old flatmate paid for ice-cream!!! Woo Hoo! I still won't make my target by next Monday.
I keep getting screened out of surveys - that last 25p is going to be elusive.:rotfl:
Not sure what the weekend has in store but I will have to get up and make plans or else we will get nothing done! Tomorrow is the last full day of our week off as we have the usual family catch ups on Sunday. Unfortunately, I have done very little housework and it shows! I can see me being busy tomorrow trying to do some fun things (sewing) and not-so-fun things (cleaning).
Will probably come back tomorrow am with a list but don't let me spend too long on here. This site can be very addictive!

What a lovely Saturday here in London. Sadly I didn't get to spend too long outdoors. I really must make an effort to get out tomorrow.
I managed to do clean the kitchen, bathroom, hall and bedroom. The flat was horrible so it feels much better now that they have been cleaned. My back is really sore though and I am shattered!
HOped for a NSD today but it wasn't to be - I paid the car parking today so it was a LSD. Don't think we'll be spending any more tonight.
Not been doing at all well on the weight loss front. I'm back to work on Monday and will start to get back into it. I really need to shift some weight, get fitter and healthier!
Not much else to report, will be going to my volunatary job this evening for a few hours and will be spending tomorrow afternoon out with Dad.
Hope you are all well.

The Staycation is over and I am having MAJOR back to work blues! I'm not sure we've fully had a chance to rest but it has been nice to have some us time.
I've packed the school bag, made my lunch, planned what I am going to wear, and re-set my alarm for tomorrow morning! There should be not be any last minute running around.
Moneywise, today I managed NSD number 6. Sadly I haven't managed the 8 that I planned for but I have had a number of LSDs but don't count these.
Tomorrow is payday so a new start. I will post an update of challenges as well as get back to my healthy eating/fitness ways with a view to being healthier. I think the better weather has helped me to feel more inclined to exercise and lose weight.
Better head off to bed - hope you all have a good week!0 -
Sounds like you've had quite a good week off..pity you have to go back to work. It's nice to spend time with your husband and friends..have a good week0
-
Thanks Taxi!
Getting up this morning was horrible but I did it and got to work. It was pretty busy - I didn't even think about lunch until nearly 2pm. This from the girl whose lunch is usually finished by 12.15!
Health-wise:
I'm back to trying to eat healthily today and even managed to do some exercise today. I feel so much better for it. I drank a litre of water whilst I was at work (there are some days when I drink nothing so this is great for me!).
Money-wise:
I got paid today and it was about £15 more that I thought which is better than nothing! I have
- moved the £8 that was left in the account at the start of the day into my 'me' savings.
-allocated money around the budget
-withdrawn my spends and my grocery money
-moved money into my home improvements savings account (I have left £50 in my a/c as a buffer. If i don't use it, I will transfer this too.
-wrote a cheque for the buildings insurance.
Life-wise:
I also have to remind myself that the title of this diary includes 'getting a life'! I am going to try and meet a good friend who I cancelled on recently. It will be really nice to see her. I also need to catch up with a few family members and friends who I have been very slack in calling. I have added a person for each day this week!
I'm going to try and get an early night tonight as tomorrow is going to be busy and I am trying to leave work whilst it is still light.0
