How did the week and the whole weekend disappear!

I must admit I'm not feeling so great about things at the moment. I don't seem to achieve anything. I had a couple of things I really wanted to do and they haven't been done! I always feel like I am playing catch up!

I've got quite a busy week ahead and a few battles to win at work. I really need to keep my goals in mind as they are there to really help to keep that work-life balance in check.

We got to spend some time with my dad today. We've been so busy with gran that it has been quite hard for us to catch up. He came over for a late lunch in between visiting times and it was nice. He also told me that there are at least 5 family weddings this year!!! This is in addition to 2 others. This year is going to be busy!!!!!

Moneywise - I have tried to review my accounts to make sure that I am getting the best interest rates. I am going to change my 'MINE' account to get a better rate.

I also took out some cash yesterday but ended up spending money on bits i.e. birthday cards, lunch (Subway), snacks while out and coffee. I really need to have better control over this. Next week I will have £25 in my purse and I really hope to have some left at the end of the week! Let's see if I succeed!

Hope you all have a good week!

    Evening!

Just to report my second NSD. Just goes to show that a little planning goes a long way. My £25 is still in tact!

Tomorrow won't be a NSD as I will have to go out straight from work and will get something hot while I am out. That shouldn't stop me from taking my lunch to work to try and stay in budget and healthy.

I also received some sad news this evening - a friend from Uni has got cancer. It's her second time - I didn't know the first time as we aren't in contact too often. I will write to her - just a little something to offer her support. She's only 33!

Not much else to say - I am knackered today. I'm probably going to get to bed soon and read a bit of my book.

    Hope you are all okay.

    Hello

I'm treating myself to a day at home - just chilling - currently watching The Parent Trap! I will also need to do a bit of catching up on some tasks.

This list of stuff to do is pretty long but I am lucky in that DH got most of the basic cleaning done today. I'm hoping to do some fun things today!

So here is my list of things to do this weekend:
    • [STRIKE]sort out the jewellery [/STRIKE] All washed and cleaned and put away. I seem to have lots of single earrings! Need to start searching.
    • write letter to go in card for friend
    • post above card and bank form to change to a higher interest accound
    • call best friend (she usually calls me back as it is free)
    • put new battery in smoke detector
    • change light bulb in downstairs hall
    • finally get wedding photos sorted :o
    • submit my self-assesment and make arrangements to pay the tax bill
    • hang out washing
    • ironing
    • learn to make something new for dinner based on whats in the storecupboards and fridge - falafel maybe!
    • Face-pack
    • Aim for NSD 3
    • Book treatment for next Friday
    • Update my itunes account - it woefully needs sorting out!
I've also had some great news this week - my gran came out of hospital. I'll go and see her at home tomorrow when we visit my dad.

    HOpe you are all okay.

Not bad - I managed to get these done while having a film fest today.

The meal was lovely and all made from stores and things that needed using up. I'll adjust the recipe next time as it needed a bit more to taste.

The wedding photos are nearly there. I will go through them again tomorrow to make sure that they are okay and create a list of must-haves and a would be nice section.

I'll catch up on what I can tomorrow. We'll go and visit Dad and Gran tomorrow which will be nice but can take out most of the day.

I also really need to do some work for work - I've fallen behind a bit so I will try and get up early to get the rest of the tasks done.

I am going to go to bed soon but may try and get the face mask in before going to sleep.

Hope you all have had productive days.

    Hi

Today has been a spend day. DH and I went to the Asian supermarkets for supplies so the cupboards and fridge are fully stocked. Also picked up some fruit and veg to keep us going through the week - especially lunches.

We went to see Dad and Gran today. We took Dad out for dinner - was lush and not too expensive for a full meal. Dad was really pleased we visited. Also went to see the inlaws and came back with some nice goodies!

I've not make much progress on the list. The cards will be addressed tonight and posted tomorrow on my way to work. I know I should do the ironing but I really can't be bothered. I have something to wear to work tomorrow but I will need to catch up tomorrow night.

The wedding photos are coming along. I need some time with them and hope to get this done by the weekend.

I am going to try and rest and get ready for the week ahead by
    - making lunch for tomorrow and Tuesday,
    - clearing the kitchen,
    - checking my diary for next week and write my list of tasks for the week,
    - updating my spending diary
    - checking my online banking and spreadsheets
    - face mask
    - setting out tomorrow's outfit

I've been sneezing a lot today - I hope I'm not coming down with something.

    Have a good week all.

Well the sneezing is now a cold - ho hum! At least it hasn't really turned into a head cold (yet)!

Not much to report -had my fourth NSD today. It it's really feeling like a long month now. 11 days to pay day and it Will be tough! Have some money put side for a birthday treat this Friday. Not sure how I'll use it.

Off to bed with some Vicks and mint oil to help me breathe.

    Night

    Hi

    Been away for a while:o.

It was my b'day a week last Friday so had some lovely treats including a pedicure. DH and I went out for a lovely dinner which was super expensive but LOVELY. We have bought the cookbook to try to recreate some dishes at home.

Yesterday was the second anniversary of mum dying so we went to the temple. It was nice to spend the time with family.

A new month has started yesterday so the budget restarts. This month I am aiming for:
    8 NSDs
    Stick to budget!!
    £120 Grocery Challenge
    £175 spends for the month

I have already moved my 'annual costs' money to my savings account, as well as my savings. I am being ruthless with myself. I need to learn how to keep to a tight budget!

This weekend has some nice things booked in - dinner with some friends tonight and a visit to C*stc* tomorrow. I need to check some prices to make sure that anything we buy is better value.

I need to get some other jobs done this weekend:
    • Finish the wedding album (even the priest told me I had taken too long!)
    • Washing - two loads
    • Ironing (really want to get to the bottom of the basket)
    • Update the spending diary for last month so I can see where I wasted money.
    • Go for a walk and do some back exercises (my back has been very sore today)
    • Clean bathroom
    • Clear kitchen
    • Clear out fridge to see what can be made for the next few days
    • Check prices online to try to get best deals.
    Hope you are all okay.
