I've done the same, using my avios points for flights from London City to Barcelona. £13.50 including checked luggage, plus hand luggage, plus a handbag or laptop. Being able to fly from City Airport is a big plus for me. I almost forgot, a reserved seat and if I check in early enough, I can choose where I sit.0

I can beat all of these part avios booked flights................mine was only 5p.............after i used the £60 xmas cash my wife gave me..............Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0

Avios is that the new name for airmiles? So you have to collect avios miles to get the flight at that price. Am I reading that correctly? How many Avios miles would get you that flight?
Using club card points to get your Avios.
Currently you get 600 avios for every 250 Club card points. So once you spend £3125 in Tesco + your £13.50 Reward flight saver fee , you have a single flight to Faro (including 23K luggage) Unless your points are for fuel in which case you only would need to spend £6250
A final hurdle is trying to stop the Avios site, which you also have to log into from crashing during the booking process0 -
wow it's a steal! Point me to the nearest tesco and I should have enough pot noodles to go to Portugal in 2050! Yippee!!!!!!!0

Which is £31.25 cashback in Tesco or £125 if you redeem on 4 x deals so in pure cash terms the Avios flight is £44.75 and a whole lot of spending in Tesco0 -
So ... what's the upshot of all this kicking around in the dust after the event? My most expensive (usually) flights of the year for July/August are booked and Ryanair have now missed out two years running. They've had 7 out of the last 12 years of our summer holiday business, but have missed out on the last two and the other three they missed were Greece, Turkey and Greece again in 2001, 2003 and 2004. So they've had a good run, but maybe the good times are gone and they've launched Greece far too late ?
We generally take the same two weeks each year.
In 2012 BA and TAP will be now be operating our flights to/from Portugal, not Ryanair. I would have considered Ryanair to Porto or Faro had I found decent prices and easy booking but I just gave up looking and then stumbled upon prices with other carriers that I had never imagined could be so competitive. It is my imagination that counts in this business. Ryanair no longer limit it !
In 2011 Ryanair didn't get us to Amsterdam (they still don't go there, do they?) to pick up our long haul. We went KLM / AF / Citijet via London City.
In 2010 Ryanair took us to Spain for £370 return for three of us including bags.
In 2009 Ryanair got us to Spain for sub £300 return for three of us including bags.
In 2008 Ryanair got us to Spain for just over £300 return for three of us including bags.
In 2007 Ryanair got the three of us to Carcassonne at 3 weeks notice for sub £200 return for three of us including bags.
In 2006 Ryanair took us to Spain but I am not sure what that one cost.
In 2005 BA took us to Spain for sub £300 return for three of us including bags.
In 2004 I think we went to Turkey and that was a First Choice Holidays package which was such a cheap way to get the flights that we bought the package including accommodation even though we had rented a villa separately!
In 2003 I think we went to Rhodes so that wouldn't have been Ryanair.
In 2002 Ryanair took us to Spain for sub £150 return for three of us including bags.
In 2001 we went to Kos - I think that was BA.0 -
Its also because Corvera Airport is Murcia will be opening this year, they are closing San Javier down.
Corvera will be international airport and provide competetion against Alicante, and as Ryan Air is currently in a huff over bridge costs at Alicante, I bet you he will soon announce that he will be flying to Corvera, thus sticking 2 fingers up at Alicante.
I have always used Ryan Air, but now switched to Easyjet as he takes the P***0 -
They still seem pretty cheap to me! The other day I spotted Jan 30th to Feb 3rd for Birmingham to Fuerteventura for approx £36, I would have jumped on that one but my boss is away on the 30th so that blew my plans right out the water! They seem pricey on Half Terms though!!!!The first place you'll find is a sleaze-pit called Bartertown. Now if the earth doesn't swallow you up first, that place sure as hell will!0
