Saving for a new Horse!

The Captain's not so obstinate now, he's mellowed with age. Now it just seems to be an independent streak
You'll enjoy discussing things with him! Funnily enough he doesn't like water either, it's the piranha and crocodiles you know.
Baldrick sounds lovely, I like a horse with character!;)

Piquant Baldrick got worse as he got older, more stubborn and annoying, just a few days before he was put to sleep, he was dragging me out to the field in the morning, considering he was on 80% liver failure he was fab! There were about 5 or 6 other horses on the yard and in the evening everyone would be bringing them in and they would all be quiet and well behaved and there would be me with my pony yelling at him to get out the way, stop treading on me and him shoving me across the yard and to his feed, everyone thought it was hilarous :rotfl:
Moneywise a successful few days
Mortgage out today so £770 to come of total, £59.41 min payment of one card, £8.43 quidco landed so transferred to card. Parents have also put in £300 for car insurance so the £50 I had saved no longer need so this and £29 less in joint account as over budget surplus has also gone to the cards
Spoke to Vodafone last night, entitled to upgrade so have upgraded phone and reduced contract so now paying £20 a month instead of £36 so great saving here. They have also offered to buy back my current phone for £95, comparison sites only give £82 so goign to use vodafone. The credit will come of bills so means 4/5 months of not paying so can use the money budgetted to send to the cards so really pleased with this :j
Car is under warranty for the part for the coolant leak so means today will be another NSD
Need to go food shopping as running out of fresh bits, fruit etc but only went shopping last on 30th Jan, so going to see if I can stretch it out a bit longer yet,. Still got lots in freezer so see what I can come up with

Morning world, thank goodness its Friday

Money in, money out, letter from virgin last night, increasing package by £3.50 a month
Luckily have enough in our budget for this as overbudget in joint account so no real change here just wont have a lot left for overpayments to card.
Know people put up prices etc, just very frustrating when prices go up but my wages seem to go down
Decided to book a few days of work for my birthday in march, hoping to go down and stay with OH's mum in dorset for few days but if not will just have a few days out with national trust or something.
Not much planned this weekend, need to go food shopping, checked freezer lots there but need to get fresh bits so hope not to spend too much, got vouchers so will help.Debt 13-1-25 - £39K!!!

Car finally picked up after 2 days, luckily parents around to give lifts!! So fixed and free under warranty, they have cleaned it too
So another thing to cross of my list of things to do
Have enough money in my personal account to go food shopping this weekend without killing budget, does mean in overdraft but only for short while and interest charges for this a month is only about £2 so not as bad as could be.
In good news OH has been confirmed his job is safe until at least end of April :j So this helps a wee bit, still at threat of redundancy after this, but at least he is now past 2 years service so this is better. Just keeping everything crossed still that his job goes on for longer.
This afternoon seems to be really dragging, roll on 5pm :cool:Debt 13-1-25 - £39K!!!

That's good news about the OH job, gives you a little breathing space. Being able to buy food is good news too!:T

Spending confessions

Felt stupidly tired on friday evening so cashpoint loomed, £50 taken out, £20 to hairdresser fund which was depleted from chinese last week, £20 spare cos not sure if needed saturday and £10 on a takeaway
So NSD ruined in style.
Yesterday went out with sister and nephew to a birthday party at a soft play area, OMG thousands of children, wasnt as bad as could be but makes ponies seem way more appealing :rotfl: Didnt need to spend any money here so my spare £20 is sill safe.
Ended the day with a wee shopping spree! £164 later enough food in the house to feed a small country, 6 pairs of socks, 1 jumper and misc items like bleach. Have stocked up on lots of veg etc to whack in freezer so going to try and stretch it out for as long as possible.
To redeem myself a definite NSD today
Tidy up the house a bit, put a few bits on ebay and some batch cooking. Waiting on ebay sales from last week, the big item has no bids yet but 33 watchers, come on people

Hope eBay is kinder to you than it is me. I'm giving up for a week or so, my last three items haven't sold

Yay to the NSD, looks like you had a fun time on Saturday though, Consider yourself redeemed when you've finished the batch cooking and filled your freezer!

Its Monday, been at work a few hours and already stressed, grr stupid job, not helped by colleagues who think they are the most important people in the world  And breathe.
Ebay ended ok, one big item sold £270
Just waiting on confirmation when buyer will pick up. 3 items sold at 99p, other items including other large one didnt sell so have taken chance and re-listed. Only 5 things on there at the moment so need to spend an evening in the week sometime to put some more on. OH has friend that is having a clearout and was going to send some to charity shop but will donate to me to try and sell, she doesnt want any money so all profits to me, so very grateful.
My house is starting to turn into a shop at the moment, all my stuff for ebay, sister has given things to sell like baby gate and baby toys, colleague at work has given me kitchen unit to sell and with friends bits and packaging items, dont think one room is sacred at the moment :rotfl:just keep thinking of the pennies!
Didnt manage to batch cook yesterday as ended up doing fence for mum including digging great big holes out of concrete!! Hard work, there is still 2 fence posts to go in plus 8 fence panels so another hard days slog, but she is going to give us £300 for this as this is half of what she would have to pay someone to do, so really pleased and worth the backache :j
Not much happening today, posting some ebay parcels, NSD, all meals from stores, daily clicks and surveys.Debt 13-1-25 - £39K!!!

No money in today, no money out

Buyer picking up big ebay item on saturday, that money with the money parents are given us for the fencing will pay of OH lens in full and leave £40 spare. OH desperately wants to get a new Xbox game, think this is £40. Going to wait to see what is "spare" in his current account at the end of the month and go from there.
There is other big items selling on ebay that were going to be put to the cost of the lens, but now this will be paid off this can go straight to cards
OH bought home big bag of stuff from friend including lots of clothes so will look through this and get some on ebay this week. Debt 13-1-25 - £39K!!!

Nothing exciting happening in the land of Baldybear! Peaceful evening as OH working away last night. Spendy day today as need to get some meat for dinner tonight, got bits for stir fry when shopping but forget to get some meat to go with it! Dont need anything else though, and have £20 still left in wallet from where didnt use at weekend so least no need to break into the bank.
Few worrying things going on in background like dad having a couple of near misses with bushes when driving, he has admitted he has lost confidence whilst driving so looks like he may give up, at 78 its not a bad thing, there are a few things he still does independently of mum but between mum, me, OH and sister should be able to work around them so doesnt disrupt life. Things like he goes out to a choir on a thursday, just up from where I work, so mum could take him and if he doesnt mind hanging round for half hour could pick him up straght after work. So was worrying about it, but think things will be fine and be able to work out ok
Keep finding myself getting really worked up and stressed at work and home, things I cant control like dad, money, work worries, I can control some just need to relax and do what I can, seems pointless making things worse than they are, just need to find that middle point somehow.Debt 13-1-25 - £39K!!!
